She's Lost Control (#1.11)

Warning: Spoilers
I like the episode and how it was about friendships and relationships. It was pretty funny how on her trip back Erica told Claire that Ethan was gay and yet it ended up getting them together. It is a nice message, that one wants to be with whom one wants to be no matter what you do to prevent it.

Her book event was funny as well. Especially when they girl didn't turn out to be who she wanted her to be. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with a woman who has an active sex life and enjoys to party and isn't ashamed of it, but I can see that the audience for this book were mainly prudes who want some boring traditional life. People who live their life are bad to campaign to people who don't want much of it

Sometimes, it's better if it's slow

In this episode, Erika wants everything to be perfect and going her way. Only to realize that things that were supposed to happen are going to go the same way whether she likes it or not. And, that it's better to take help rather freak out and take charge of everything else by oneself. One of the things I found funny in this episode is that she says,"I am not one of those crazy bosses who takes control of everything and dismisses everyone's opinions" and proceeds to do just that. It shows that while she has self-awareness, she can also be blind to her own mistakes which cleverly Dr Tom puts at the end of how people who play the game are blind to things outside of it.

She even tries to go back in the past and speed things up than they are supposed to be which ironically makes the people around her happy since they get what they want but not her. "You cannot make people's decisions for them.", as Dr. Tom rightly puts it at the end of episode.

Let it go ! How-to better control your life

Considering how much I like the show I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it sooner. However it's never too late and as I specially enjoyed this episode I think it's the perfect time to do it.

This one was all about Erica and Ethan. Does love worth risking a long time friendship ? When she opened the door Dr. Tom was meditating and doing yoga. He said something very important about controlling our thoughts instead letting them control us. It's the eternal dilemma between thinking and doing things the right way. For once she was sent two times back in time, at her demand. We learned that some events just can't be changed. It's not fate because what happens mostly depend on our decisions. To better shape our future one solution is to be more opened to others and see things in a new light to help shadow our doubts. It's so fragile to live in a bubble of dreams. Overcoming obstacles is really what makes life beautiful. Moreover for once the therapy session only changed her instead of altering the present. I think it was a smart move by the writer, Aaron Martin.

Last but not least her new attitude provoked a major change in her career and the last scene was unexpected so I really wonder how things will turn out. It's unusual but I've decided to give this episode a perfect score. It was just flawless and even had something Shakespearian about it.
