Solidly fun, not much more with this ep
Steve_Holt_2 January 2022
Kenny seems to completely superfluous. What does he add that didnt already exist in the story for Cobra Kai?

Everything else continues along solidly. Nothing amazing for me in this episode, and nothing ruinous.

Good in the Beginning, Excellent in the End

Warning: Spoilers
The best of the season so far.

Starting with what I didn't like: Miguel, I found him "displaced" in the episode, I can't explain it, but I didn't like him in this episode, nor his plot.

But I loved the rest, johnny and daniel training the two dojos separately was fun, both parts were great.

I liked what happened to Kenny, although I was a little frustrated in the scenes of him "running away" from the cobra kai attacks, but I could understand why, at least now he can defend himself at school. Happy for him, even if the dojo in particular is not the best option...

Terry's scenes were intense, the flashbacks, the meeting with the kreese and the ending, him going back to the cobra kai... amazing.

Very looking forward to the next episodes.

4,5/5.

Take a leap

The sensei's take their rivals kids out for a spin resulting in some cool moments. The new storylines are developing well and seeming to flow with the vibe of the show.

Getting Back On Track (Best Episode this Season)
TheFearmakers31 December 2021
It's funny. Whenever Daniel remembers his past, every time he gets to the time he opened a Banzai Tree store, he shakes his head as if such a memory is... cheesiness galore, which is basically the third movie, that even this series notes as being a severely weak link in the canon, and so bringing back Terry feels like if there were a Godfather 4 and George Hamilton still replaced Robert Duvall, making Terry all but giving Creese money to have more power or something...

The good thing about this episode, which is the best one so far, is the show's getting back on track and becoming its very own season instead of attempts to restart from the others...

And that the new character, Urkel Son, has relevance, connecting to not just Daniel's skinnier son (who is still entirely worthless) but Johnny's son Robbie, an important character so, one of the main characters so, who knows... Maybe Jaden Smith's Surrogate still has some worth... He surely came alive in this episode and doesn't feel as forced any longer...

Humor episode!
mm-3929 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Then Learn Fly is a episode is a humor installment. A fish out of water episode, which had the two dojo's learning the difference systems! The learning has some stupid spots which are hilarious. Danial and Johnny training each other is funny. The different personalities create a chemistry that give an 80's M T V feel. The makers know entertainment value and never ever took the series to serious. 7 stars.

So I'm not a parent or anything, so I'm not biased... Wait, I did fall off a building once actually, so I might be. Don't worry I'm ok. Anyways, what was I saying? I believe it was something about don't jump off buildings... Well nevermind I forgot.

Farfetched
mycannonball13 January 2022
This is the weakest episode of the season (maybe the series?). It was just too far-fetched with Johnny telling Daniel's kids to jump off a roof. He's always done crazy stuff (e.g. The dogs in the junkyard), but that always felt like a very comedic moment with the way it was edited to music. Or the cement truck was crazy but that wasn't as blatantly dangerous as this. The roof-jumping felt dramatic and serious, so it was just weird. And the episode wasn't that funny either.

Watched this an the next episode and jacked it in

God what happened? I do not believe the same writing team made this amateurish, dull predictable, childish drama. It's not just bad in parts, its clunky and embarrassing. You can see exactly where the 'netflix executive' demanded a certain inclusivity story line be railroaded in.... It's awful!

Dull and childish episode is a real letdown
mattstevens4 January 2022
The first season was pure perfection. The second season flawed, but certainly terrific. The third season further flawed, but it did come together in the end. Unfortunately I am growing increasingly worried about this season. The first two episodes had their moments, but this third episode was dull, childish and even moronic at times. Each season the "kids" storyline grows increasingly absurd (by this point they'd all be in jail) as though Netflix execs demanded the writers give little kids something at their intelligence level. Thankfully "Terry Silver" figures into a few scenes and there is no question Thomas Ian Griffith is the biggest and most welcome surprise to this season. His character has renewed depth and Griffith's portrayal is truly layered. I am praying for more of this in coming episodes. Less annoying little twerps. More of Johnny and Daniel. And much more Terry Silver!

Got woke
benzy196117 January 2022
Just like Disney destroys everything it touches, so, too does Netflix. This was a great series before the Netflix executives, (you know who they are), got their hands on it. Now it's boring, woke garbage. Goodbye Cobra Kai.

Worst episode of the season
hnt_dnl22 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Overall, this show is still good, if now officially in the overrated territory. And while I definitely had some problems with Season 4, there was a lot of good stuff, almost none of which happened in this episode. This one was almost pure filler. Only the bits involving Silver-Kreese and Robby-Kenny felt important, but unfortunately they had to take a back seat to all the boring stuff with Johnny-Sam and Daniel-Miguel. I say unfortunately because Daniel-Johnny was one of the worst parts of the season. At this point, I couldn't care less that they come together because I realize the actors don't have natural chemistry. I also never asked for or wanted the Johnny-Sam or Daniel-Miguel bonding. These scenes were painfully dull with scenes of roof-jumping and fish-catching that were a complete waste of time. What does jumping from rooftop to rooftop prove other than stupidity? What does catching a fish with your hands prove other than Daniel has really run out of Miyagi-do secrets? I'm not nearly as obsessed with Johnny-Miguel as like 99.9% of the Cobra Kai fandom, but the Johnny-Sam scenes were so wretched, I was almost begging for Johnny-Miguel again! At least Johnny has humor in that pairing, even though he's the one who completely carries those scenes. While the Daniel-Miguel stuff wasn't bad, it's just a rehash and feels like forced fan service because apparently, Miguel having Johnny isn't good enough for fans, we have to have Miguel and Daniel scenes, too, because he's because I guess Miguel is the "teen star" of the show even though he's incredibly static and dull as a character. I much prefer the Daniel-Robby dynamic of all the mentor-student relationships, but we can't have that because Robby is currently with Cobra Kai and is therefore the enemy. But ALL the good and interesting stuff is happening at Cobra Kai. Other than the aforementioned Silver-Kreese and Robby-Kenny scenes which were few and far between, this was a really dull episode. The Silver-Kreese and Robby-Kenny duos really got more meaty material as the season wore on, but not enough in this one to rate it higher due to the now annoying leads.
