Confusing, but very entertaining.

Susan continues to search for the missing chapter, Atticus Pünd gets closer to the identity of the murderer.

This was a very watchable, enjoyable penultimate episode, I liked that it focused more on Atticus Pünd, rather than Susan. It's going to be interesting to see if both crimes are solved at the same time or not, and if they're linked in any way. Visually impressive throughout.

I am keen to see if Susan is going to appear in the book, it seems strange that everyone linked to her appears, and yet she doesn't.

This was a little confusing at times, especially after a few glasses of rioja, but definitely very watchable.

7/10.

Episode 5

The episode opens with a flashback and Alan Conway is holding a writing workshop. He gets upset when one student expected his story to be a whodunit. Like a magpie, Conway uses the student as a character in his book. The stupid gardener.

Atticus Pünd is getting somewhere in his investigations. He figures out that the murder of Sir Magnus Pye was not linked to the burglary. The stolen trove is found in the lake, robbery was not a motive for the murder.

Rather cryptically, Pünd tells Fraser that Lady Pye killed Mary Blakiston, but does not discuss why or how.

As for Susan Ryeland. After getting a photo of her lover Andreas confronting Alan Conway. She decides to get the truth out of him.

Andreas confesses to Susan that he lied to her and he want to see Conway to raise money for his hotel venture in Crete. The photo is taken out of context. Conway agreed to the loan when he found out that Andreas and Susan were an item.

Once again it is Anthony Horowitz playing around with the crime genre. I think Horowitz is having fun with a crime writer who is sick and tired of doing whodunnits.

I would had liked if Pünd had told Fraser why he thought Lady Pye killed Mary Blakiston. I guess that is being held back for the finale.
