A Mediocre Musical

I never had high expectations for this episode. And it matched my expectations. I thought the episode was okay, but has some problems. For one, I felt the episode was rushed and very slow at the same time. It was slowed down by the songs, and because of them, the episode had to rush it's story, making it feel messy. The message of the episode was also terrible, with Marge apologizing to Sasha for SASHA's misdeeds. I will admit that some of the songs are pretty catchy, but all of them are really forgettable. And while Kristen Bell is a good singer, she just doesn't fit Marge. Overall a mediocre episode with some good songs but a messy plot and a mean-spirited message.

This is just mediocre at best. Nothing really all that interesting or memorable. The next episode to be released on October 3rd SHOULD have been the season premiere instead of this episode, which I would have definitely preferred.

The Simpsons is a comedy show, not a musical. There were some good jokes but the actual musical lacked and the plot was badly done and boring.. This is the first episode of this show that I didn't like so that probably says something about the direction of this show.

This is the worst one every made. I only watched it to say I watched it. What a waste of life. I think the recent Simpsons is still good but this episode specifically is a fricken joke. Whoever made this needs to be taken out back with ol' yeller.

I couldn't watch this episode through. I came not even close to finishing it. Why would they even bother to slap up something such as this one? Everything is off here. Maybe some sort of interesting adventures are still there to be written in the Simpsons universe, but the uppermost feeling I get from watching this show is that they should really just stop.

Tried to watch the second episode of this season (33) and it was just mildly better. Stick to the old ones, if you want to watch the show: start from the very first season and grab that DVD off the shelf!

Who would 10/10 this junk, this is not the simpsons. I donthave problems with musical episodes, this is just pure trash and the kind of garbage that the simpsons was created to push against.

Stop Trying to Retcon This Show

An episode that was bad from beginning to end. No decent jokes, and the songs were lackluster. A musical episode could have been great, but this one fell short. The Simpsons has had many great songs over the years. Examples include, every song in A Streetcar Named Marge, See My Vest, Dr Zaius, Happy Birthday Lisa, and many more.

Sasha spent the entire episode trying to make Marge's life more difficult, yet when Marge finally outs her as being a fraud, we're expected to look at Marge as being in the wrong? I don't think so.

As I said in the title: enough with trying to retcon this show. As we know from the original episodes where Marge and Homer began going out, not only was Marge the more popular of the two, but Homer wasn't popular at all.

Ignore the haters. This episode was fun

As a theatre geek this episode was a love letter to shows I love. From the obvious nods of Rent, Wicked, Mary Poppins and Rock of Ages, the episode was fun. If you could not grasp the references, then that's on you. The rest of us will be grinning from ear to ear.

Was it a great episode? No certainly not, but it also wasn't the trainwreck many people make it out to be. Sure, musical episodes are always kinda hit or miss and I'm not the biggest fan in general either, but they still got a few cute ideas in there. As I said, not a great episode, but still ok.

This is by far the worst episode ever made, and pushes Lisa goes gaga to 2nd, its just completely rubbish, marges singer is horribly out of place, and the singing is pointless and out of place, pls never watch this.

It's actually tragic that any of the writers thought this was anywhere near ok. My kids and I are sitting here willing it to end. This is just a tragedy ! Wheels kind of came off a few years ago when it went p.c .

How about the writers watch the Mr Plough episode or any of seasons 4 and 5 ?

I've watched every episode of the Simpsons and just watched this garbage to keep the record going and i could finish this thanks to 2X speed!!

The writers should know by now that the Simpsons is not for kids and the oldest fans that follow the show from season 1 are at least 40 years old so why musical episodes? We are not looking for something like Frozen when we decide to watch this show, We want Homer Simpson to kick some ...

I'd 10/10 highly recommend if you're a fan of self-torture and hatred.

I liked the bits where the episode stopped and I the ads started playing. Definitely the 2nd best part. 1st best part was when the episode ended and I went back to watching youtube videos.

There are those of us who spend our lives defending The Simpsons, saying it IS as funny as it used to be and that it should not be cancelled. We are betrayed by garbage like this. If you want to get into musical theatre, go and do it, but don't inflict your wet dreams on us.

Might be the worst simpsons episode ever. Definitely top 3. For starters, this musical feels more like an average Family Guy episode with all the cringey and lazy jokes. All the music is bad, and I was practically frowning the entire 20+ minutes in disgust of how far this once great show turned into something that made the local news look like a cinematic masterpiece. I had to click off not once, not twice, not three times, not four, but FIVE times because it couldn't keep my attention for even 3 minutes. This felt like it was an hour, an hour long snoozefest that if actually made me sleepy watching it. Disgusting episode. 1.5/10.

I really dislike it when shows do musical episodes. It all seemed to start with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then everyone seemed to do one. I give it one star as I turned this off and didn't watch it once the singing started.
