A lovely and charming episode

They try something different in this episode and it works well. Get ready for some spooky shennigans in this epsiode. Does not dissapoint.

The previous episodes, OK, some of the acting does initially come across as unauthentic. But honestly, this tv show is really picking up pace now. Slowly building up pace. Several of the characters have their histories and natures elaborated in this episode, which is good to this.

My favourite part of the episodes is the ever so brief flashbacks and tributes to the great franchise that started it all. What I liked about the original movie is that even though it was about high fantasy, they valued and put time and effort on screen the develop and flesh oit the histories of the main characters, while throwing in lots of entertaining honour at the same time. And they have that too in this TV show, and I am sure the final episodes will have bigger budget production vibes about them as well.

Interesting change of tone and pace
zvp7475314 December 2022
After all the running around in the last episode, this one sees a change of pace as our heroes are holed up in Queen Bavmorda's abandoned, creepy stronghold while they try to cure Graydon, who was infected last week by the same corruption that turned Ballantine.

This is an opportunity to explore and develop the relationships between different configurations of characters, and see some flashbacks to events in the castle from the 1988 film as well as to find out more about new characters' and the antagonists. While there's still plenty of banter, there was a change in tone to something that if not wholly original at least was unusual and interesting. In fact, while it reminded me of something, I can't put my finger on what. Classic Doctor Who is the closest I can get, but that doesn't seem quite right!

The plot was still a bit hit and miss, and the priorities of the characters questionable even in the context of a haunted castle messing with their heads. But I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, including getting more more insight into Graydon, whom I'm finding one of the most compelling new characters, and the indications we're going to be finding out more about the enemy and what's going on with kidnapped Airk in the next episode.

Really enjoyed

Warning: Spoilers
So, far I am enjoying the show. They re-established & basically created a mythology that was very basic from the movie. The movie was built on likability of Willow & the redemption story of sellsword turned hero Mad Mardigan, played by a young Val Kilmer. In the big scheme, a majority of viewers didn't know the other character names after they left the screen. So re-establishing secondary characters with importance b& building a universe was & is important to the shows current & future success.

Here is my guess n a spoiler. My biggest gripe, by the end of episode 1, smart fans knew that Graydon (AKA Flash Thompson, the Prince) was gonna be evil or is being controlled by the Crone. They have teased it throughout every episode & this episode made it even more obvious. With the flashback involving Graydon's past.

But the last 2 episodes have been fun & interesting. The potential is there.

Cliffhanger

Warning: Spoilers
This show so far has been absolutely amazing in my opinion but I have never watched the movie before and still very easy to follow. I'm glad we finally get to see the prince again at the end of this episode it's very exciting to see where he is at now. Anyone who loves fantasy, beautiful filmography and exploration I highly recommend this show and to give it a chance. It's my favorite show right now and I can't wait till Wednesday when the next episode comes out. I hope Disney renews this show for many more seasons. If you are looking for a new show to watch I highly recommend this show! 10/10.

Enjoyable dark episode with good atmosphere

The group spend the night in Nockmaar Castle.

This is a good episode with some creepy visuals and decent character moments.

The plot has some good haunted house scenes that work fairly well with the self-referential humour of the show and the development of certain characters.

For an episode with a simple premise it feels slightly cluttered with ideas at times. I watched it with my young daughter who asked me a few times what was going on and there were a few aspects that felt confusing when I had to explain, such as what was behind the door and elements of Graydon's backstory.

Putting certain deviations in the plot aside, the central drama, involving Graydon and Elora, does unfold pretty well, although some aspects are quite predictable.

How much you enjoy largely depends on how interesting you find the characters. I like Willow because of the established history and Warwick Davis' charisma, but I am yet to warm to the new additions.

Visually it works very well, with the set design, cinematography, lighting, and horror effects all creating the appropriate atmosphere.

The Whispers of Nockmaar
Prismark1027 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is a time of dark magic and portions. Graydon has been infected and Willow needs to cure him in time before he gets permanently cursed.

They all seek refuge in the castle of Nockmaar to treat Graydon. However while Willow tries to formulate a portion to save Graydon.

The castle's dark magic makes everyone anxious. They have visions and traumas. Not everything is real.

Elora goes to the High Tower, something Willow forbade. She sees just how Willow did manage to defeat Bavmorda.

More troubling are the visions Elora views of Graydon as a child.

Once again a lot of the action is in the dark. Time is taken up with Willow conjuring up the elixir.

The episode does improve as the group becomes fractious, the visions, footage inserted from the original movie.

Yet it is all so unoriginal, this type of stuff has been done before. Nice moody song at the end but this is shaping up to be a disappointing spin off.
