It's hard to be bothered about another set of scenes of Paul sitting around looking confused and guilty.He's a regular, he's indestructible, so they're never going to send him to jail and the whole thing's a waste of our time.And a waste of Rebecca, as well, by having her stick by a guy that's morally bankrupt.The only good thing about this storyline is the return of Lou.At first it looks as though he's going to be overshadowed by Paul's latest drama but then he calmly steps in, retrieves the situation and faces down a pack of reporters.Like Harold, it seems he's benefited from going part-time on a show that tends to treat him like part of the furniture.
The Ramsay kids make the most of their limited screen time:Sophie running to get the tissues for Kate is a wonderfully cute moment and even Harry is beginning to show the glimmerings of a personality.But would Karl really call off Social Services when it's obvious that they're unsupervised?
Steph substituting for Elle as Donna's surrogate big sister is an interesting move, especially if they follow up on it rather than forgetting about it once the storyline's over.Unfortunately it just demonstrates how uniform the cast are without the usual visual clues. Donna in Steph's clothes just looks like Steph.
