Who is that homicidal duck? Is it Howard: A New breed of Hero or Orville the Duck.

The episode opens with a young woman fleeing for her life in a cruise ship with someone who has gone quackers chasing her. An aromatic duck this poultry ain't.

It then flashes forward 3 months. Jamie joins the crew of the Sacramentum undercover to find out what happened to his sister.

The ship is no place for lower deck crew who are treated worse than third world staff. Jamie finds himself hazed but the killer duck is not finished.

This is a dark teen thriller as well as being a pastiche on the slasher movies.

Almost like a British version of the Scream franchise. An interesting opener, it also has a lot to say about teen workers and how they are treated.

It's an interesting enough start.

Jamie buys someone's identity to land a job on born The Sacramentum, his mission, to learn what happened to his sister, who disappeared on the cruise ship some three months before.

It won't take you long to see just exactly who the target audience is, I'd place it in the mid to late teen bracket, it's like CBBC does Scream.

It's an amusing enough yarn, and the slasher movie fan in me couldn't help but enjoy it, I absolutely loved the duck, whenever you watch a slasher, the villain is always sinister looking, think Texas chainsaw or Ghost Face, how good to have one that looks sweet and cuddly, it provides something very different.

It gets extra points for featuring the excellent Thaddea Graham, she's always great value, I'm keen to see what her character brings.

6/10.
