I prefer the music video version Warning: Spoilers
A "pilot version" of this short was originally released as a music video for the song "Twice" from the Swedish band Little Dragon.

I really loved that video, with the stylish shadow puppetry being in perfect synchrony with the beautiful music.

That video might not feature the full story of the short, but it feel "complete" anyway.

"Dreams from the Woods" it's also a good short, and has pretty great visuals, but for some reason, it didn't have the same effect on me: I guess the soundtrack can be the difference in some cases, and while the original video gave the story a melancholic, yet at the same time whimsical vibe, the music from "Dreams..." gave some of the same scenes an eerie tone instead. The plot is also a bit harder to follow, and I'm not entirely sure of its meaning. The visual aesthetic alone made it a worth-watching experience anyway.

Maybe subconsciously I was expecting to hear "Twice" at one moment, something which never happens here.

My personal rating for the full short is 7/10, but the "Twice" music video version deserves a 10/10 rating.
