"Punch Perfect" episode 8 of "The First Lady" which is "Showtime's" season one anthology was one strong well done episode as the acting and chemistry was spot on(give Davis and Michelle some awards). The timeline and issues dealt with Eleanor on to husband Franklin to help the Jews flee Nazi Germany, and you see a strong Betty deal with husband Jerry's loss in the 1976 general election as Mrs. Ford still battles with addiction. Plus Michelle Obama is strong and blunt and tackles the issue of race head on. Strong episode that showed how each first lady dealt with and faced each personal and social issue that floated about during their respective husbands presidential term.

Counterpunching

These portrayals of the first ladies involve their efforts to project their own voices. Eleanor sees the injustice of not accepting the Jewish refugees because it would show the US reducing its neutrality. Betty Ford falls to her demons as she tries to remain sane after the Carter election. Michelle Obama decides to talk about race, possibly alienating voters, especially in the South. I too wish another actress had played her.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode really encapsulates all of their characters fully. Michelle and Jillian are beyond perfect in their characters. I still think an unknown actor should have played Michelle as I still see her acting with the pursed lips.
Excellent storytelling, costuming and sets.
