Paul is at his vilest here with his cruel dismissal of Donna and the fact that Elle seems to be uncharacteristically neglectful of her here only hammers it home.Which makes Donna standing up to Paul all the more impressive. If Paul manages to stick to his offer to be honest professional rivals, this could be interesting...although that's a big "if" as his subsequent actions prove.
Declan and Bridget accidentally alienating their friends is a nice sequence and is well set up with the early scene of Bridget overhearing Declan on the monitor.Their dilemma doesn't seem to make much sense though:Why can't they just ask all three of their friends to be godparents?
Lucas continues to dig himself into a deeper and deeper hole which makes his rejection of Paul's offer all the more surprising.Assuming the rejection was permanent, of course:There's a nice bit of ambiguity surrounding who exactly he phones at the climax.
