survive
Kirpianuscus29 November 2022
A fair, minimalistic portrait of Irish famine of second half of XIX century.

An impressive, for realism, Post Partum portrait.

And the belif in fairies, admirable reflected.

A film about loneliness , the fears around it, about motherhood less assumed, about incertitude and the relations with the neighbors.

Inspired images and power symbol of tree.

And this kind of film crafted by large shadows of silence.

A baby, a couple, tough times and minor solutions to survive , the cry of child as a sort of hammer against nerves of his mother and a mistake changing everything in an infanticid.

The solution of woman to return to normality is radical one.

The last scene, when the truth becomes more than clear is just impressive.

In short, dark colors, bitter story.
