The widespread effects of the U.K.’s controversial Brexit vote remain to be seen, but British chef Jamie Oliver already has concerns for his industry.
“If it affects me, it will affect every restaurant and every farm and everyone in the food industry, which is the biggest industry on the planet,” Oliver tells Good Housekeeping UK in their January issue.
The vote, which has the U.K. on track to be withdrawn from the European Union by 2019, will make it even harder for restaurants to find workers, Oliver says. “We are constantly short-staffed. We haven’t got queues of people wanting jobs.

Jamie Oliver's quest to bring healthier school lunches to the children of Los Angeles might have been met with significant hurdles, but he inspired some of the right people -- his story is going to be adapted into a movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Ryan Seacrest is co-producing the film (he also produced Oliver's "Food Revolution"). The Hollywood Reporter has more:
The story centers on a hot Los Angeles chef known for his popular gourmet food truck who gets into trouble and is sentenced to work at a school. The chef revamps the lunch program with a ragtag group of kids.
So, think "Mighty Ducks" mixed with "School of Rock."
Will Ferrell and Sean William Scott are apparently on the short list to play Oliver.
Between this and the "Blood, Bones & Butter" adaptation, it seems like Hollywood sees a future in food films.

TV personality and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is also a prolific television producer, but the man who created Keeping Up with the Kardashians is now looking to expand into filmmaking. And it should come as no surprise that his inspiration is reality television. THR reveals Seacrest is teaming up with Paramount Pictures to develop a comedy called Food Fight, loosely based on celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's Emmy-winning Food Revolution. Oliver used the show as a platform to promote better eating habits by traveling to various American small towns and teaching its locals the joy of healthy home cooking. Seacrest was a producer on the series, and is currently spinning its concept into a narrative film in the vein of Paramount hit School of Rock. The comedy would reimagine the good-intentioned English chef as a Los Angeles gourmet food truck owner whose shenanigans force him to do community service...

Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations leads the pack with four nominations -- Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming, Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming, Outstanding Nonfiction Series and Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming.
Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution got a nod for Outstanding Reality Program. The show won the same award in 2010 for its first season.
Top Chef released a sexy ad of Padma Lakshmi earlier this year in the hopes of gaining some Emmy attention and it certainly seemed to work. The show is nominated for Outstanding Reality -- Competition Program, Outstanding Cinematography for Reality Programming and Outstanding Picture Editing.

The 2012 Emmy nominations have been announced and American Horror Story tied Mad Men for the most categories with 17 nominations. The Walking Dead also picked up a few nominations and we have a list of the major nominations for you to check out.
As you’ll notice below, American Horror Story was submitted as a miniseries which made it easier to pick up so many nominations. This series qualifies for these categories because each season is a self-contained story with new characters and cast members.
The Walking Dead was not nominated for any of the major acting or series categories, but did pick up nominations in “Prosthetic Makeup for Series, Miniseries or Movie”, “Sound Editing, Series”, and “Special Visual Effects, Series”. We’d be very surprised if Greg Nicotero and his team did not win the makeup category for their season 2 work.
Drama Series: “Boardwalk Empire,” HBO; “Breaking Bad,” AMC; “Downton Abbey,...

What?! No best comedy series Emmy nomination for Parks and Recreation? Community? Nothing for Mad Men’s John Slattery?
Okay, before we climb onto the highest of our high horses and give those dolts at the TV Academy our righteous online fury, let’s first note what Emmy voters got right this year:
– The best dramas: Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland, Mad Men. You can say a couple of other shows also deserve to be on this list, but you can’t really argue against these noms. Glad to see Emmy voters recognizing fantasy drama Thrones once again,...

The newly greenlighted Chef Race: UK Vs. U.S. follows 16 chefs — eight British and eight Americans — who race from Los Angeles to New York for a $100,000 prize. The contestants have no money and minimal resources, so they must use their resourcefulness, ingenuity, leadership and finesse along with their cooking skills to win. MasterChef‘s Richard Corrigan will serve as mentor and judge and Food Network’s Claire Robinson will host. The unscripted series is being produced by UK chef Jamie Oliver (ABC’s Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution) and his Fresh One Prods and is set to premiere in the fall. Oliver is executive producing with The Amazing Race‘s Amy Chacon, Undercover Boss‘ Stef Wagstaffe, Roy Ackerman, Sebastian Grant and Jo Ralling.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has made a name for himself with his hit television show "The Naked Chef" and his best selling cookbooks, but the British restaurateur has also made it his mission to get people on the fast-track to healthy eating.
Just last week, Jamie Oliver launched the first-ever, global Food Revolution Day, which took place in about 60 countries urging people to focus on food education and to fight obesity. When Oliver sat down with MTV as part of our Pioneers Speaker Series, he told us that young people are the ones who have the power to make a positive change toward healthy eating.

Last month, we covered Jamie Oliver's announcement of Food Revolution Day, and the celebrity chef penned a column for the Huffington Post yesterday to express his excitement about the global initiatives taking place to spread the message of healthy eating. "I can not tell you how proud I am that we have more than 500 cities in 57 countries around the world standing up for real food," he wrote. "Food Revolution Day is an opportunity for everyone around the world to do something."

This Saturday, May 19, will be the first-ever global Food Revolution Day. I can not tell you how proud I am that we have more than 500 cities in 57 countries around the world standing up for real food. And it couldn't be a more important time for it.
According to the World Health Organization, global obesity has more than doubled since 1980 and more than tripled in children. Across the world more than 1.5 Billion adults are overweight and of those 200 million men and 300 million women are obese. We are in big trouble.
Despite these grim statistics, and general shouting about the problem across the world, no one -- not government, schools or doctors -- have worked out a plan to give our children the tools to live longer, healthier, happier and more productive lives. Our kids are the first generation predicted to live shorter lives than their parents. As a father this is...

“There are so many incredible people working on this issue, so we wanted to provide a platform for anyone with skills and knowledge around food — chefs, gardeners, food bloggers, food educators, etc. — to offer experiences/events (classes, seminars, tours, sessions) to kick start a real food movement in their community. As a kid, Ryan Seacrest idolized Dick Clark. As an adult, he modeled his career after the entertainment giant and helped him carry on with his annual New Year's Eve celebration after a stroke took its toll.
He called the 82-year-old mogul who died Wednesday "one of the greatest influences in my life."
Now Seacrest - uncannily in the Dick Clark mold - is left to carry on the youthful vitality and innovative spirit that Clark used so effectively to meld music and media.
And the 37-year-old is well on his way. Following Clark's playbook, Seacrest started as a radio host before expanding to TV and eventually producing. He's the voice of his nationally syndicated morning radio show and the international program "American Top 40." He's the face of "American Idol" and E! News. He's the producer behind "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and its associated spinoffs, along with many other shows,...

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has announced the very first Food Revolution Day. Taking place in May 19, the day encourages families, schools and community groups to host local events to promote healthy eating and raise awareness of childhood obesity.
"Together we can change the way people eat by educating every child about food, giving families the skills and knowledge to cook again, and motivating people to stand up for their rights to better food," the Food Revolution Day website reads.
Oliver is also releasing a toolkit to help families become healthy eaters. Check out a few of the tips below:
- Involve kids in grocery shopping
- Plan meals ahead
- Avoid buying food that have ingredients you can't pronounce

ABC announced their summer offering schedule, though the big kick is coming as early May 14th with The Bachelorette. Curtis Stone has warned Jamie Oliver that he should "practise what [he] preach[es]". The Aussie celebrity chef weighed into the debate about Oliver's size, which was ignited a few days ago when Oliver called a journalist a "bitch" after she asked if he had gained weight since his last visit to Australia. Insisting that he is a big fan of the British chef and food campaigner, Stone countered that Oliver should keep himself in better shape because he is always encouraging healthy eating. Stone told The Talk: "The interesting part of this for me is that Jamie is a big voice and he preaches, you know his show is called The Food Revolution. So, he's there talking about healthy food and you've got to practise (more)...
