The location: Birmingham’s comedy haven, The Glee Club
The event: Day 25 of Tom Stade’s 'Tom Stade Totally Rocks' 2013 tour; a tour that has proved just how popular the Canadian born Stade has become in the last few years. Of course, Birmingham is a venue which resides close to Tom’s heart, having spent six years living in Bilston, Wolverhampton, and it’s clear from the rapturous applause the man receives just how fondly this city holds both him and his unique presentation of the comic form.
Nevertheless, to breeze past the wonderful support act accompanying Tom would be both wrong and against the wishes of the man himself – who makes no secret of his admiration towards his comical cohort – and so our review must start there.

Even if you've not seen Craig Campbell on a solo jaunt, you may well have caught him on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow or Russell Howard's Good News.
Last month, Campbell released recent set Craig Campbell Live, and he's also out on tour with friends Stuart Francis and Glenn Wool as The Lumberjacks.
Ahead of his upcoming new Edinburgh set Thrilling Mic Hunt (say it out loud... but not in the office), Digital Spy spoke to Craig about comedy, loneliness and his comedy peers.
How is the scene different in Canada from here?
"Less people, less shows, less population and more distance between them. So a lot of effort to get the same number of people in a room at any one point."
Do you change the set-up a bit when you're doing stuff in Canada?
"100% - Some stories translate internationally quite across the board, other stories need a little more...

Spooks, Qi, 8 out of 10 Cats, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and a re-run for Reaper. Plus lots of movies too in the week ahead...!
Where do MI5's secret agents hide out when they're not defending the Isles? Why, among comedians, that's where.
We start our weekend off in the style that only Mr Stephen Fry can deliver with a ninth series of Qi. The first of sixteen episodes welcomes Phill Jupitus, Jack Dee, Ross Noble and, of course, Alan Davies to the letter 'H' and the topic of Hodge Podge tonight, Friday, September 17th at 8:30pm on BBC1.
A little later in the evening, Jimmy Carr-hosted 8 Out Of 10 Cats returns to trump Qi with one series better (numerically, that is) in the first of five episodes at 10:00pm on Channel 4. Guests joining regulars Jason Manford and Sean Lock are Dr Christian Jessen, Jamelia, and the Jacks,...
