Real-life auto racer Danica Patrick guest-stars in this crime story involving Formuula 1 (Grand Prix) drivers.
The story is about an exhibition match race held in the city just prior to the "New York 400." The exhibition race results in one of the drivers - a famous hard-driving type - having his car blown up and him critically injured.
Police discover he had received a handful of death threats recently, so the CSI team knew this was no accident. Plus, they knew enough about these cars to know they don't just explode like that "Mac" leads the investigation not just because he's the boss, but we learn he's a big racing fan, as well. Thus, this case really intrigues him.
The auto - what's left of it - is patiently put back together by the CSI team and they find some starting facts. We'll leave it at that, story-wise.
Patrick, meanwhile, had no lines for almost the first half of this story but she did finally begin to speak, she did a nice job of delivering her lines with realism.
