While Kanye West has been a hugely popular artist over the years, the rapper has also faced his share of criticisms for his conduct and actions. Following his marriage to Kim Kardashian in 2014, West had a very publicized divorce from the reality TV star after having four children together. Almost immediately, the singer-turned-fashion designer married Bianca Censori, an Australian architect in 2023.
A still from Runaway by Kanye West
With a lot of viewers initially commenting on the uncanny resemblance between Kardashian and Censori, West and his new wife have been constantly under the scanner. Recently, the couple who were spotted in public, faced a lot of trolling when Censori was ripped apart for her questionable fashion sense.

For me, my love of Sydney, Australia — where I shot Anyone But You starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell — boils down to two things. One, it’s not only a beautiful city, but every small neighborhood has the water right next to it. There’s beach everywhere, and even ferries as public transport. Second, the people are really, really nice — the rumors are true. They also have an amazing life-work balance — they work really hard all day, but when it’s time to wrap, it’s time to wrap. You film, but you also have a life; it was a real lesson to me.
I wanted Anyone But You set specifically in Sydney because I had really fallen in love with the city, starting back in 2018. After making Peter Rabbit in Sydney, I liked it so much that for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, I moved my whole family down there.

One of the more notable features of James Gunn's 2014 film "Guardians of the Galaxy," the tenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was its rockin' soundtrack of familiar 1970s hits. The film's main character, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), was abducted from Earth as a boy and raised among space aliens. One of the only things he kept as a vestige of his life on Earth was a Walkman and a mixtape that was gifted to him by his dying mother. The tape contained "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede, David Bowie's "Moonage Daydream," The Runaway's "Cherry Bomb," and Rupert Holmes' oft-reviled "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)." Peter Quill's mother had interesting taste. Norman Greenbaum's popular pick "Spirit in the Sky" played in the film's preview and is on its soundtrack record, but isn't actually played in the final cut of the movie.

There have been many great shows, and for some of the lucky few, an even better spinoff has emerged.
From shows like NCIS, Better Call Saul, and more recently, House of the Dragon, audiences have truly been spoilt.
But just because the original show was a success, it doesn't always mean the spinoff will be a success.
Heck, in some cases, the spinoff series doesn't even make it to air.
Below are five examples of some planned spinoff shows that unfortunately never made it onto the small screen, with reasons provided as to why that never happened.
Revenge
When the original four-season run of Revenge ended in 2015, the nature of the final episode instantly led to rumours that the show could return. Could Nolan continue to help those seeking vengeance? Would Charlotte progress further down the dark path the show has hinted at?

This story about “The Power of the Dog” first appeared in the Down to the Wire of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
She’s not even 40 yet, so why does it seem as if Kirsten Dunst has been overlooked by the Oscars for years, maybe even decades? It feels that way, of course, because we’ve been watching her since she was a child, from her startling preteen performances in “Interview With the Vampire” and “Little Women” through coming-of-age stories like “The Virgin Suicides” and “Bring It On,” hits like “Spider-Man” and critical favorites including “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Melancholia.”
And now, after 33 years of acting, almost 60 movies, 19 TV shows (including the recent “On Becoming a God in Central Florida”) and two children with her partner, Jesse Plemons, she has her first Oscar nomination for Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog.”

Today’s news comes about a month after the Academy released its shortlists in the International Film, Documentary Feature, Original Score, Original Song, Makeup & Hairstyling, Visual Effects, Sound and the Live-Action, Documentary and Animated Shorts categories.

Well, that was not the ending I expected for Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 Episode 4.
Up until the "we're-all-stranded-on-a-telepathic-planet-that-wants-to-eat-us" moment, it was a pretty fabulous romp for the fledgling crew.
Of course, leaving Gwyn unguarded is never a good idea, and I don't think they'll make that mistake again. If they get the chance to make it again, that is.
I have to wonder if the creators may feel hampered by the half-hour format they've chosen for the show.
Yes, it's a kids' show, and a half-hour would, logically, be the longest you'd expect most 7-12-year-olds to be able to sustain their attention, but the narratives the show looks to tell are so much bigger than can be told effectively in thirty minutes.
To be fair, this is a bit of a throwback to the multi-part episodes of my childhood where animated adventures often ended with the dreaded "To Be Continued.

Update, writethru: After debuting to $6.7M from five overseas markets last weekend, Warner Bros/DC’s The Suicide Squad moved into wide offshore release this session, taking $35M from 69 total international box office markets. This is a touch below the like-for-like opening of 2020’s disappointing Birds Of Prey ($36.6M at today’s rates) and under the $40M we were seeing coming into the frame. The offshore cume is now $45.7M and the global total, with domestic’s debut, is $72.2M.
Still, this well-reviewed James Gunn-helmed franchise entry had a strong -25% hold in its already opened overseas markets, and notably landed No. 1 bows in Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Italy (Japan is due to release on August 13). Nevertheless, and despite positive reactions, hopes were higher for The Suicide Squad and there are several factors contributing to the lackluster start.

Just as “F9” couldn’t come soon enough, the same applies for next weekend’s “Black Widow.” Universal leads by default with its unheard-of release of three wide titles over two weeks, but total box office declined from last weekend. As expected, “F9” led in its second frame, followed by “The Boss Baby: Family Business” and “The Forever Purge.” Three movies in the top 10 grossed over $10 million, a first since March last year.
Even with new titles, we’re seeing grosses plateau. The three-day weekend for all titles should total $72 million, down from $98 million last weekend. The same weekend in 2019 grossed $184 million. Another point of comparison: The last time July 4 fell on a Sunday was 2010. That weekend’s total, adjusted for higher ticket prices, was $220 million.
Over the past four weeks, grosses overall are 43 percent compared to the same period in 2019. Last weekend, the comparison was 49 percent. Next week will improve things,...

The critics swooned for it, the studio marketed the heck out of it, and its feel-good message couldn’t have arrived at a better time. So why did Warner Bros’ splashy new movie-musical In the Heights receive such a lukewarm turnout in its opening weekend? With advance predictions pegging the debut of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s stage-to-screen adaptation at around $20 million, In the Heights fell well short of expectations, pulling in a soft $11.4 million in its first frame, leaving an opening for the three-week-old horror sequel A Quiet Place Part II to reclaim the top spot in North America. Meanwhile, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway hopped its way into third place in with a $10.4 million bow.
After dropping down to second place last weekend, the John Krasinski-directed A Quiet Place Part II rebounded with just under $11.7 million in its third weekend in theaters. Paramount’s PG-13-rated suspense sequel...

Chu’s long-awaited feature adaptation of the Lin-Manuel Miranda/Quiara Alegría Hudes Tony-winning musical In the Heights finally hits theaters and HBO Max this Friday, and in a recent Fandango poll of 1,300-plus moviegoers, 96% of ’em say it’s the first movie they plan to see since the pandemic shuttered theaters 15 months ago.
The pic, which is making its world premiere Wednesday as the opening-night selection at the Tribeca Film Festival, already is 97% certified fresh and is the top pre-selling ticket on Fandango for this weekend. Industry estimates rank Heights No. 1, ahead of Sony’s Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, with a $10M-to-midteen millions opening weekend.

Update: Yet another international box office frame was led by Chinese movies in their home market as local May Day holdovers continued play coming off a record holiday session. While a handful of studio titles are doing business in other pockets of the world, we are in something of a holding pattern until majors like the UK and France begin opening in the coming weeks, and as Universal’s F9 is expected to rev up overseas turnstiles for Hollywood starting on May 19.
Notably this session in China, Zhang Yimou’s Cliff Walkers climbed ahead of May Day holiday winner My Love. The former now has an estimated cume of $118.2M versus the poorly-reviewed romantic drama’s $114M.
At the same time, Miramax has finally begun sharing numbers on the Guy Ritchie-directed Wrath Of Man which, as we have previously noted, has been performing strongly in Russia since late April.

Update: After a couple of relatively slow sessions, China turned up the heat again this weekend as the five-day May Day/Labor Day holiday dawned. At least 10 new local titles released across Friday and Saturday with romance drama My Love in the lead through Sunday at an estimated Rmb 424M ($65M). It was followed by Zhang Yimou’s better-reviewed Cliff Walkers with Rmb 260M ($40M) and Leste Chen’s crime thriller Home Sweet Home Rmb 126M ($19.5M). Those three films, plus others in the pack of new offerings from the Middle Kingdom, were the top grossers globally this session. Overall, IMAX had a solid China weekend with Cliff Walkers at $2.3M, and gaining $1M from Home Sweet Home.

Tuesday Update, writethru after Sunday Am post: Warner Bros/Legendary’s Godzilla Vs Kong has reached a new global benchmark, crossing $400M with a confirmed cume through Sunday of $406.5M worldwide. Of that, $320M comes from the international box office in 41 markets. The monster mash, already the biggest Hollywood movie of the pandemic era, continues to track above its Monsterverse predecessors. It is the highest-grossing of the films in 19 markets including China, Russia, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mexico.
In combined like-for-like markets and at today’s rates, Gvk is running 6% above Kong: Skull Island, 44% over Godzilla: King Of The Monsters and 90% ahead of Godzilla. And, there are still over 20 markets to come including Brazil, Japan and the UK.
Gvk‘s weekend was worth $5.6M offshore. China’s run is winding down with a fantastic $183M through Sunday — the best Hollywood performance since Covid began — and could still grow a bit during this week.

Updated, April 1: Sony is going a week later with Uncharted, its adaptation of the PlayStation video game starring Tom Holland, on February 18, 2022 instead of February 11. The pic will have access to Imax and Plf screens at that time.
Uncharted goes up against Paramount’s Rumble and Universal/Endeavor Content’s Ambulance on the new date, leaving behind Universal’s Jennifer Lopez-Owen Wilson romantic comedy Marry Me and 20th Century Studios’ Death on the Nile on February 11.
Why the move for Uncharted? I hear it’s to get the movie off of Super Bowl weekend, which falls on February 13 next year, so the Sony event film has some breathing room.
Previously, Jan. 21: Sony’s Camila Cabello ‘Cinderella’ Dances To Summer, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ To Fall, ‘Uncharted’ Eyes 2022 & More
The major studios waited until Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th U.S. president to make their release-date changes official.

Despite a relatively unassuming title, Henry Butash’s ruminative feature debut, The Atlantic City Story, is a quietly profound, muted character study, following two wayward souls at a crossroads in their lives, looking to the faux-glamour of Atlantic City as a possible escape. While hitting familiar narrative beats, the film features a career-best performance by notable character actor Jessica Hecht and relative newcomer Mike Faist (perhaps most famous for his work in Dear Evan Hansen), marking an auspicious debut for the first-time director.
Trapped in a seemingly routine marriage, Jane (Hecht) decides to flee her suburban Jersey life on her birthday, buying a bus ticket and, ultimately, a hotel room in the casino. Perhaps unsure herself why she is taking the trip, she wanders through the casino floor before finding a roulette table where Arthur (Faist) is sitting. Doctor Who has finally achieved its first Emmy nomination, but it’s not for the recent season of the TV show. The British institution traditionally hasn’t had enough clout in the U.S. to be in the running for the Emmys, but since 2016 the BBC has been pushing for it to get some recognition. Unfortunately, though, it’s proved unable to earn any nominations in either the major or technical categories.
Yesterday’s Emmys 2020 nomination announcement, however, has revealed that this drought is over, thanks to an unexpected part of the franchise. VR game Doctor Who: The Runaway has been nominated for Outstanding Derivative Interactive Program. There’s actually only one other nominee in this rather niche category – Netflix’s Big Mouth Guide to Life – so there’s a pretty high chance of Who getting its first Emmy win here and not just nomination.

Peter Rabbit hit theaters in February 2018 as a hybrid live-action/CGI franchise reboot that injected the classic stories of Beatrix Potter with contemporary energy. The result was a film that – akin to the stealthy precision of Peter in Farmer McGregor’s garden – quietly banked $115 million domestically, totaling $351.2 million globally, and was even the U.K.’s top family film of 2018, out-grossing Pixar’s Coco.
Consequently, it didn’t take Sony Pictures long to consider Peter Rabbit 2, giving it the official greenlight and a 2020 release date; a move made just one month after the original’s release. Indeed, main cast members such as the voice of the larcenous lepus himself, James Corden, as well as Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne, are set to return, as will director Will Gluck, who, just as with the first film, wrote the script with Patrick Burleigh.

Yep, there’s a sequel to Peter Rabbit. It’s called Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway and if you liked the first movie, then I imagine you should like this one. In this new story, Peter leaves his small town to embark on an adventure across the country to embrace his bad side.
In the film, “the lovable rogue is back. Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.”
The movie was directed by Will Gluck and it stars James Corden as Peter Rabbit, Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, and Margot Robbie.

"Stay out of trouble!" Sony Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for the live-action CG hybrid sequel Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, the follow-up to Sony's Peter Rabbit movie from 2018. Director Will Gluck returns, along with James Corden as the voice of the pesky Peter Rabbit. Old tricks. New mischief! In this sequel, Peter leaves the old garden, finding himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated. But when his family risks everything to come looking for him and bring him home, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be. The full cast includes Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, with Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley as Cotton-Tail. This movie is being released in April right before Easter, because of course bunnies and Easter go hand-in-hand. But it still looks bland. Here's the first teaser trailer (+ posters) for Will Gluck's Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway,...

Marseille reaffirms its status as one of the most dangerous cities in France with “Shéhérazade,” director Jean-Bernard Marlin’s accomplished feature debut. But its reputation for crime and poverty makes all the more affecting the tentative relationship between a troubled 17-year-old boy just sprung from juvenile detention and the title character, the teenage prostitute he falls in love with. Shooting in a color-streaked vérité style and coaxing terrific performances from his non-pro cast, Marlin clearly has a promising future ahead. What keeps ‘Shéhérazade’ from ranking higher in the pantheon of streetwise French crime dramas is the story’s overall familiarity. But the question of whether the love between two lost teenagers can survive such a miserable environment provides more than enough emotional pull, provided that audiences can find this 2018 Cannes Film Festival gem on Netflix.

We might have a while to wait before we see new episodes of Doctor Who, but in the meantime, the BBC is serving up “The Runaway,” which is described as a 13-minute interactive Vr story.
Directed by Passion Animation Studios and the BBC’s Vr hub, this brings together Jodie Whittaker on voice duties and series composer Segun Akinola providing new original music. The conceit for the film is that you’ve been in a mysterious collision and wake up inside the Tardis. The Doctor introduces you to the mysterious energy being you’ve collided with, and you must team up with her to ensure that he’s returned to his home planet before some very bad things happen (probably involving the destruction of the fabric of space and time).
Now, we’ve got a new trailer that gives us our best look yet at what the experience will be like.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is happening, with James Corden and the rest of the main cast returning in time for Easter.
Indeed, main cast members such as the voice of the larcenous lepus himself, James Corden, as well as Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne, are set to return,...

Max Irons will star in Lone Scherfig's Posh movie.
The Host actor, who is the son of Jeremy Irons, is said to have held off competition from Sam Claflin and Douglas Booth to win the lead role in the adaptation of Laura Wade's London stage play.
Robert Pattinson was said to be an early contender to star in the film, however sources told The Hollywood Reporter that interest in the former Twilight star came more from producers than the actor himself.
Posh focuses on the fictional elite Oxbridge dining society, dubbed the Riot Club, who hold clandestine meetings in a private room at a pub.
Game of Thrones's Kit Harington launched his career on stage in Posh, which opened at London's Royal Court Theatre in 2010.
Irons can next be seen in The Host, opening in cinemas on March 29. His previous credits include Red Riding Hood, Dorian Gray and The Runaway.

New York — "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy didn't hesitate when given a chance to pay tribute to his American idol, legendary TV producer Norman Lear, at the 40th International Emmy Awards.
Lear's sitcom "All In the Family" – and its spinoffs "Maude" and "The Jeffersons" – mixed humor with an honest examination of the key social issues of the day – racism, sexism, even abortion, rape and homosexuality. Decades later, Murphy is following the path blazed by Lear with his shows, "Glee" and "The New Normal."
Murphy and Lear are to receive honorary awards at Monday night's International Emmy Awards Gala. A total of 38 nominees from 15 countries will compete for awards in nine categories. British television productions received a leading seven nominations, including best actor and actress nods for Jason Isaacs, the villainous Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, in the crime mystery "Case Histories" and newcomer Joanna Vanderham in "The Runaway."

As announced back in March, Skins is set to return for a final time next year, and E4 and Company Pictures today announced the details of the new series.
It will mark a departure in style and will see three former stars returning to the roles which shaped their careers in three individual stories, each one broadcast in two, one hour parts.
Written by series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain with Jess Brittain, the stories go into new territory; more adult, more uncompromising. Each two part story centres on the characters now in their early twenties, the party's over and they're starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times.
Kaya Scodelario, the only cast member to appear in all previous six series of Skins, returns in Fire, written by Jess Brittain.
Effy has a dead end job as a receptionist for a leading London Hedge Fund.

She arrives in the North East seeking employment and finds herself working at a glamorous department store called The Paradise. The store is full of peculiar characters including a sinister man with a shadowy past and the colorful Miss Audrey (Lancashire) who oversees the ladies wear department. It isn’t quite Are You Being Served? but the BBC are promising 8 hour long fun filled episodes of romance and romps.
