"The perfect romance ends in tragedy"
skteosk5 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
An idea with a lot of potential ruined by a couple who have absolutely none at all. After they've played around with the parallels between Annie and Romeo's romance and the Romeo and Juliet play, they finally come into focus here as art spills over into life with their playing of the scene where Romeo and Juliet see each other for the last time. Except this isn't the last time they see each other and we get two more farewells with diminishing returns:The farewell after the play is perfectly adequate yet air time which could have been given over to actually showing Annie saying goodbye to other characters like Irene and Ruby is wasted with a second farewell, which despite containing one cute moment when Romeo whispers something that viewers already know is utterly redundant. The fact that this is actually Annie's farewell episode seems to get lost in the mix as it focuses on an ode to a couple that weren't actually any good in the first place.

Far more interesting is the continuing Miles/Rabbit saga as Miles finally begins to realise that Rabbit is stopping him leading a normal life yet is still upset when she promptly disappears.Unfortunately, it then segues into a complete non sequitur as Miles gives Leah and Elijah information we've never heard before, which leaves the viewer thinking they've missed a bunch of scenes.
