"I think there is a cure. It's called not drinking."

Warning: Spoilers
There's some superb comedy on display here but also some quite serious stuff. The unlikely and utterly hysterical John/Gina/Jill triangle surprisingly doesn't go the most predictable route and instead we're left with the brilliant idea of John having a heart to heart with Gina while Jill gets drunk in the next room.It eventually occurs to him that maybe he should be getting her to leave the house before she gets suss although the moment when she kisses him and he hesitates for a moment before just going with the flow is sheer class.

Leah and Elijah continue to work better when they're doing comic banter rather than unlikely "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" discussions.Elijah's hasty "That was a joke", eyes upturned, after contemplating drowning his mother is another great character moment. His mother has been built up quite a bit so here's hoping she lives up to the advertisement.

The Alf/Colleen/Marilyn storyline finally hits gold as Colleen gets her own back, leaving Alf being grumpy and Marilyn slowly losing it.The serious side of the episode is provided by Irene, getting her best material in a long while and the best use of her alcoholic past as she tells Jill a few home truths to try and get her back on the straight and narrow.
