An oddly cluttered episode, despite the small cast, means a low key debut for April, who basically appears on the wharf and chats with Xavier for a bit. It's impressive enough though and there's a genuine chemistry between them so provided she doesn't get lumbered with too many bad stories or become too one-note she should be a good addition.
The stuff with Ruby and Liam and Charlie and Angelo, and even John and Jill, mostly feels like padding and a way of acknowledging where they're at at the moment.Leah finally losing her patience with Lijuan is an important step forward and leads to a nice moment of Song telling a possibly meaningless parable to VJ.Or perhaps it means that people who seem to be better off than you rarely are.
Romeo's attempt to "help" an increasingly bemused Gina get some laughs but he again loses more viewer sympathy with his rather arrogant attitude towards his mother and fails to realise the effect his actions will have on Xavier, leading to a confrontation that could land the latter in trouble.
