"iPhone Murder Apps" is a short film from 2010 that features recent Oscar winner Emma Stone as a presenter of the newest iPhone apps, especially the ones that can be really useful if you want to kill somebody and quickly dispose of the body afterward. I must say, even at only 70 seconds (what a really short work), the joke here almost got old a bit quickly, but just "almost" luckily. Glad it was that short. Stone's voice performance is obviously the best thing about this one we have here and seeing her early on and at the end adds a lot to this one too. Honestly, there is nothing special, but I am sure with many other actresses taking Stone's part here, it would have been worse and not have received six stars from me. The film and stone carefully walk the fine line between being entertaining and being try-hard funny for the sake of it. It all works nicely eventually I guess. Oh yeah, it's by Funnyordie of course and one of the better works by them in recent years. Director is Lauren Palmigiano, a prolific FoD filmmaker, and thanks to her lead actress here I give it a thumbs-up. Worth checking out for everybody who likes Emma Stone. (How can you not?) Rest can skip it probably.
