"I have no idea if I'm making the right decision or I'm making the biggest mistake of my life"

Warning: Spoilers
This show can be hard to figure out at times. You're never sure whether you're actually meant to like a character or not, whether the writers know what a character is doing is wrong or not.Case in point:Marilyn. It's hard to tell whether the writers genuinely think she's a bubbly, cheery, kind-hearted character who'd make a brilliant mother or whether they've actually noticed she's a selfish, manipulative, immature woman who's taking advantage of a teenage mother's confusion.Sid seems to be painted as the villain because he's the only person who notices how insane it all is, when in fact the only thing he does wrong in the episode is snapping at Dex.Nicole elicits sympathy but it's hard not to shout "Run, run now" at her.

Thankfully, the other story lines are better.Xavier is back on fine form after a blip of an episode and his support of April is endearing. And he manages to puncture Romeo's stuck-up attitude in a brilliantly written and extremely slash-friendly exchange.April is probably getting into something she shouldn't but remains basically sympathetic.Even Ruby isn't actually showing any sign of trying to steal anyone's boyfriend, despite the hints at the end of the previous season.Indigo and Dexter have some brilliant sibling banter which we haven't had enough of lately.Only Romeo seems to drop the ball slightly by being in a bit of a mood for no apparent reason.(Well, other than the "deliberately fail your exams for a girlfriend who deliberately passed them" thing. But that was his fault.)
