One hit, four misses...
Swacs-Man7 November 2012
I generally love horror anthologies but this one is rarely worth your time. Only one of the five segments deserves mention, the longest one, Clowned. The other four, while not really terrible given the films very low budget, doesn't really stand out and are almost never scary or original.

Usually, these types of films comes with a wrap-around sequence which makes the whole mess coherent, but this one opted not to give us that satisfaction.

I'll still watch any horror anthology I can get my hands on, because if one of the segments aren't satisfying, it's pretty fast on to the next one. Same goes here, where, besides aforementioned Clowned, no segment is longer than 15 minutes. And I'm glad they weren't.

Disappointing.
facebook-524-7192868 November 2012
Harks back to the days of the Horror anthologies such as Tales from the Crypt and Tales from the dark side.

The stories twists are rather predictable, in keeping with the anthologies of old, pretty shallow, lacking in substance and explanation.

There are one or two moments that make you wince slightly, but that's it, without them this would be the stuff TV Horror is made of.

Initially I thought it was a collection of short films strung together, until the cast started crossing over from one story to the next.

Watchable, but not worth dedicating your movie night to.

To be fair, if you are looking for a scare, I'd look elsewhere.

not very good, but not too bad

Warning: Spoilers
All of the films were decent, none were that great. My favorite was probably the vampire one, although I thought it seemed a bit confused. Why exactly was the protagonist seeing his dead wife as a ghost, when there really was no significance of it? I also thought it was interesting to repeatedly see the girl in the high heels walking, up until the last film where she is found to be the main character. The re-membered one was also solid, but I found it extremely dumb that the protagonist in that was one of the detectives in the clown one. I also enjoyed seeing Corbin Bleu as a clown (compliments to the makeup artists, not to the high school musical star). All in all, a somewhat decent film. 4 stars out of 10.

No. Not Scary.... Or Die Of Boredom
strong-122-4788851 September 2014
When it comes to horror movies (be they low-budget, or not), Scary Or Die (SOD, for short) was just plain dull & dumb! (And, it certainly wasn't in the least bit scary. No... But, gory? Yes!... But, not scary!? - Ha! Don't make me laugh)

And, speaking about having any potential racial barriers, SOD appeared to have none.... OK! Let's see - In the city of Los Angeles there were both Black & Mexican blood-lusting zombies - There were dead-faced Chinese ghosts and blood-thirsty Oriental vampires - There were re-animated Caucasians (as pieced together corpses) - And, last but not least, there were Black psycho-clowns with infectious bites.

(And, I still don't understand why the hell Emmett didn't go to a doctor after he'd been bitten)

I found SOD to be the sort of typical, brain-dead slop from the horror movie genre that comes across like its stories were all made up as they went along (which they probably were), and that goes double for all of its dimwitted dialogue.

If you ask me, when it comes to the likes of these horror story anthologies, SOD made 1982's Creepshow look worthy of an Oscar comparison. It really did!

Yes. Indeed. SOD was a total dud from start to finish. If this is supposed to be the direction in which horror movies are going, then all I can say is "#%&@#!!", or, better yet "Zzzzzzzz!"

P.S. - SOD also lost itself some major points for its blatant product placement of "Marlboro" cigarettes.

A showcase
tdeladeriere14 December 2012
Lured by the cover art to think I was in for a killer clown movie, the Creepshow-esque hand that clicked on the scaryordie website in search of a good horror clip made me realize that this was an anthology.

I haven't bothered to check if all segments were directed by different directors, but what they lack in a unifying theme, they make up with style. The general vibe is old-school, with enough blood to keep the viewer happy but no outright gore or torture. The set-ups are also classic : zombies, vampires, devil cults and the aforementioned killer clown. Segments range from 10 to 30 minutes, with no twists. The story lines are straightforward to a point and do not try to add to any mythos. But they all deliver with elegance and a lot of promise.

Because none of the sketches tries hard to surprise you, they're better left at their short running time, which is enough to be impressed by the directorial styles displayed. This explains why the Clown segment, the longest in the anthology, is also the weakest. It outstayed its weak set-up. The first and last segments, both tales from the undead, are also the slickest and nicely round up this hodgepodge of atmospheric, but almost too respectful quickies.

An unexceptional horror anthology.
BA_Harrison25 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The lame framing device for this mediocre anthology has an unseen person logging on to a website where they view five short, supposedly scary videos.

In the first, The Crossing, trashy strumpet Connie (Hali Lula Hudson) accompanies rednecks Buck (Bill Oberst Jr.) and Keith (Shawn-Caulin Young) to the Mexican border where the guys have been murdering and burying immigrants in order to deter wetbacks from entering their country. But when Keith, who has been swilling foul-looking moonshine, stops to take a leak, his toxic urine soaks into the ground, bringing the pair's previous victims back from the dead as ravenous, vengeful zombies. Some enthusiastic blood-letting makes this tale fairly enjoyable, although the 'twist' at the very end is as old as the hills, ripped straight from Romero's classic Night of the Living Dead.

Tale number two, Taejung's Lament, revolves around lonely widower Taejung (Charles Rahi Chun), who, having rescued mysterious young woman Min-ah (Alexandria Choi) from an attacker, is invited to a party the following week. When he gets there, Taejung discovers that the other guests are all vampires. Another moderately entertaining story, but the payoff is weak and predictable.

Re-membered stars Christopher Darga as hit-man Sam Franks, who is driving down the freeway with the remains of a dismembered victim in his trunk when he hears strange noises coming from the back of his car. No prizes for guessing that this story ends with Sam meeting a grisly fate at the hands of his victim, who has somehow reassembled himself.

The fourth and best story, Clowned, sees petty drug-dealer Emmett (Corbin Bleu) gradually transforming into a hideous clown after he is bitten by the creepy (and inappropriately named) entertainer at his younger brother's birthday party. Director Michael Emanuel drags his story out for far too long but at least offers some genuinely creepy imagery along the way, with Emmett as the clown being a particularly impressive sight—easily one of the more disturbing horror movie clowns that I have seen. The ending for this one is also pretty neat, displaying a delicious sense of black humour.

In contrast, Lover Come Back, the final segment, is incredibly short, and tells of a woman whose voodoo amulet helps her to return from the dead to seek revenge on her murderous husband. It's executed with a fair amount of style, but isn't all that memorable.

The film wraps up matters by revealing the person logged onto the website to be the dead woman from the final story, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Too many crew reviews here
wds000721 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry but seriously? SPOILERS BELOW.

After watching the first two stories I could watch no more. It was too bad. I logged in here to read what I assumed would be similar reviews. Instead I see WAY too many 6-10 star reviews.

Look, I recognize that many if not most beginning directors, actors, and writers enter the industry in the horror genre and that's OK. But I wish they and the associated crew members wouldn't try to bid up their efforts like this. Take the criticism to heart and learn from it and go on to make better movies.

The first story (The Crossing) was awful. Acting was way over the top. Characters were walking cartoons. Makeup was poor (especially the dirty teeth). The Mexican store clerk was so stereotypical he would've been at home in a Merry Melodies cartoon. SEEEE, SIGNOR! What was wrong with the sound? I had to turn up the volume to hear dialog, it was so poorly mixed.

When the driver started spouting profound statements before killing the two stooges I cringed. Please.

The cheapness of the production was enhanced by having the characters interact with things off camera. Like one of the killers prodding something but the camera didn't show it or the zombies eating someone but all we saw was his face.

The ending was stupid. Why did the agents shoot the woman? I mean, a white woman in obvious distress comes out of the desert and you SHOOT her? She obviously wasn't a zombie.

The second story wasn't quite as bad but made little sense. And another dumb ending. I had enough at that point.

This movie was poor and should have ratings that reflect that. Instead I see some as high as 9 or 10! Come on guys, let US review YOUR work. Go back and try again.

An Insult Rather Than A Homage
Theo Robertson16 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Oh an anthology horror movie ! Just like those one Amicus used to make in the 1970s . If nothing else if you don't like one story then there might be the chance that you may like the next story coming up in five minutes . However these films from yesteryear were made with a feeling of camp affection and were best viewed when you were about 12 years old on ITV one Friday night when Britain only had a grand total of three television stations . Nowadays if you like any story from a horror anthology then you're very fortunate

Let's just say I wasn't fortunate in watching this . The title alone is an atrocity against grammar and warns you that you're going to be watching literate drama . But even in horror terms this is fairly vapid stuff of rednecks vs zombies , lonely man meets woman with a secret etc etc . Some people who think clowns are scary might find at least one of the stories creepy but the rest of the film is unimpressive for those not addicted to the horror genre

My Review Of "Scary Of Die"
ASouthernHorrorFan24 July 2013
"Scary Or Die" anthology tells five very different dark and twisted stories with L.A as a backdrop save the first. The first story happens in the borderlands outside the city close to Mexico. The film manages to quietly hint at the interwoven depth of the five tales with carefully hidden elements to the tale which require careful attention from the viewer to catch the connection. "Scary Or Die" has directors Bob Badway, Michael Emanuel, and Igor Meglic coming together to create some clever and fresh urban tales of horror which star Bill Oberst Jr., Alexandra Choi, and Corbin Bleu just to name a few playing out these ill fated lives.

scary or die"Scary Or Die" is a classic horror trilogy that celebrates the classic dark, witty and twisted styles most common in 80's anthologies and television series (Tales From The Darkside is the one I kept coming back to as I watched this film). The stories are "The Crossing" - a very dark and poignant story of prejudice and karma which has a couple of 'good ole boys' seeking to deport immigrants in their own sick manner only to have fate exact a gruesome justice of it's own; "Tae Jung's Lament" - a Korean vampire tale that is both elusive and clever in it's re-imagining of a 'damsel in distress' story; "Re- Membered" – a story that brings a scene of almost demonic or devilish cat and mouse dance between a shady character with someone in the trunk; "Clowned"- is an emotional horror story that has a family torn apart over some demonic case of twisted circumstance which conjures nightmares on so many levels; and "Lover Come Back"- a sinister and justified voodoo love story that proves some emotional bonds go beyond the grave or in this case the gross dumping ground.

For me this is one of the better produced anthologies that flows cleanly between tales as given through us by an unknown person via a website entitled "Scary Or Die". The person becomes known at the end, tying up the thread of continuation in this nice little flick. The stories varied from dark humor to melodramatic despair. Each of the stories held out to the very last scene before unveiling the full scope of the twisted tales which brought a freshness to each of them and made this film very entertaining. It is not a balls out scary anthology but it is clever and modern. "Scary Or Die" is a new urbanized 21st century anthology that holds it's own against the classics. I will watch this one many more times before I tire of it. Mainly because there are some deep messages in these stories that you don't see in a lot of the new anthologies and I am still trying to figure out what those messages actually represent.

more than an homage to the classic monster
jphunt-write14 May 2013
This film is more than an homage to the classic monster films we know and love. It combines modern visions with a deep thinking. "The Crossing" takes on zombies and immigration with Bill Oberst Jr. leading the charge, "Taejung's Lament" twists together Asian ghosts and vampires, "Re-Membered" gives us a new look at Tell Tale Heart and Frankenstein, Corbin Bleu proves he isn't that kid from High School Musical anymore when he gets "Clowned" in this all heart and a lot of bite were-clown story - Emanuel cleverly toys with our fear of clowns mixed with cannibalism and werewolves, while a voodoo grandparent's blessing of true love may in fact be a curse. ~ Creepercast

Incredibly mediocre without much impressive parts
kannibalcorpsegrinder10 January 2013
A website host examines a series of stories that take place among residents of Los Angeles.

The Good Stor(ies): The Crossing-A group of teens take a trip to the Mexican border for fun and games with captured illegal aliens, but things take a dark turn when their previous victims rise from the dead to take revenge. Actually fairly decent enough with a clever twist here in that it's not immediately about the torture of the victims before since this one manages to get through a little spiel before getting to it's main point, which is fun but those aren't that interesting. Thankfully, the zombie attacks are gruesome and gory enough that they're one of the saving graces here, and manage to make a clichéd segment into something fun.

Clowned-After getting bit by a strange clown for his brother's birthday party, a man finds transforming into a frightening clown and tries to stave off a series of murderous urges as he searches for the one responsible for his condition. Clearly the film's main selling point as there clearly was a lot put into this one with it's extended and obvious length advantage over the others, it's also quite a lot of fun as the change comes on quite slowly and makes for a pretty chilling transformation as all the parts start coming in slowly before the big reveal at his final form which is outrageously creepy and saves the whole film just by itself. While it doesn't get resolved and features a lame shock twist, this is still bloody enough and has a great air about it that it's easily the best thing about this entry.

The Bad Stor(ies): Tae-Jung's Lament-A lonely man attempts to rescue a woman from a strange thief, and upon doing so is granted an opportunity for thanks with her and her friends, unaware they're part of a vampiric cult being hunted down by a master tracker. Far too much melodrama than horror with his rituals about trying to honor his deceased wife and trying to live while doing that, but it doesn't really have a lot of scary moments. The final twist is quite nice as they don't have any association with normal vampiric activities or actions, which again makes this quite frustrating since it doesn't make them appear to be for any reason other than a shock twist at the end. The rescue attempts aren't that bad and actually have some good stuff to them as the segment doesn't tell us what's going on and are just throwing them into the scenario. Overall, this one just feels quite lacking.

Re-Membered-Having finished his assignment, a dirty cop returns to his patrol route in an attempt to get away with his deeds, only to be constantly under suspicion that the dismembered body in his trunk is still alive. A pretty disappointing effort that again runs on tons of clichés, as this one acts like the Poe story 'The Tell-Tale Heart' with a different organ chosen as the only difference here, but the constant thumping in the trunk of the car and his frantic worry about getting away with it are just right out of that story. It's brevity is another issue, as the barely fifteen-minute time doesn't allow for it to go anywhere but the story doesn't really give it the chance to. The appearance of the still-alive body at the end doesn't have any ring to it at all, and overall this one feels like filler.

Lover Come Back-After a spat with her lover causes her to die, she returns from the grave powered by a voodoo curse to seek revenge on her philandering spouse. This is overall the weakest at barely ten minutes in length and given a pointless, needless narration which brings out the entire backstory and what's going on on-screen while it's happening and robbing it of everything it could've had by choosing to do such a tactic. Again, the story plays out the way you expect it to without any real change simply because it don't offer any place to go but to dwell in the land of the familiar and because it focuses so long on the romance to start the relationship before dwelling on the supernatural return this doesn't get the chance to do anything of any importance before it goes for the familiar, and more than any of the segments this one's inclusion is pointless and unnecessary.

Rated R: Graphic Language and Graphic Violence.

My Wife's Terror Films
Fields2019 October 2019
So as part of the horror film watching my wife had us watch this movie together after dissing one of my recommended horror films.

This film is awful.

Sad because I really like horror films like these where there are different stories which leads to something bad happening at the end. Problem is this one felt like a student film.

It doesn't start off well at all. Some girl and these hicks go out to the Mexican desert and turns out these hicks kill these Mexicans in the back of the truck. Girl gets upset over this and they are attacked by zombies. The ending doesn't make sense but you can say that to about every segment here.

The second one, to me, is probably the better of the segments mainly because at least we have a likeable protagonist. This Japanese guy who misses his dead wife comes across this girl who looks like his wife but then gets kidnapped by this white dude. He ends up saving her and gets invited to a party where it makes even less sense than the last segment.

The third one has this guy with a body in the trunk and the story that leads to him being pulled over. There's not much to it than that and the payoff really isn't that great.

The fourth is the longest of the segments about some clown who bites this guy and he turns into some demon clown who is looking for revenge on the other clown and how he misses his son. I've seen this story done better in movies simply titled "Clown" but this one did have the most effort put in. The makeup effects, I must admit, looked pretty good. However, it's marred by some questionable acting and shoddy camera work. They used this for the cover and this will probably be the most remembered.

Then the last segment honestly didn't make much sense and it's very boring. Luckily it's short.

All and all, if you have to watch something new for Halloween and like these segment films.... I still can't recommend this unless you like really bad movies and want to riff with your friends. If you can get intoxicated before you watch, even better.

Cheap Horror
vikanov22 April 2023
Scary or Die (2012) is a horror anthology film that fails to deliver on almost every front. The movie consists of five loosely connected segments that are supposed to be scary but end up being nothing more than a borefest.

The first segment, "The Crossing," is about a group of illegal immigrants who are attacked by a murderous vigilante. The story feels forced and lacks any real tension or scares. The acting is wooden, and the script is full of cliches and predictable twists.

The second segment, "Lover Come Back," is about a woman who comes back from the dead to seek revenge on her cheating boyfriend. This segment tries to be both romantic and scary but fails miserably at both. The acting is once again subpar, and the story lacks any real depth or originality.

The third segment, "The Hood," is about a group of gangsters who encounter a voodoo queen. This segment is full of racial stereotypes and does nothing to add to the overall plot of the movie. The voodoo queen's powers are never fully explained, and the ending is unsatisfying.

The fourth segment, "Clowned," is about a serial killer who dresses up as a clown. This segment is easily the best of the five, but that's not saying much. The story is predictable, and the scares are cheap and unoriginal.

The final segment, "Re-Membered," is about a man who discovers a magical potion that brings his dead wife back to life. This segment is the weakest of the five, with terrible acting and an unconvincing storyline.

Overall, Scary or Die fails to deliver on its promise of being a scary horror anthology film. The stories are poorly written, the acting is subpar, and the scares are cheap and unoriginal. Save yourself the time and skip this one.

Grisly, low budget horror anthology
Leofwine_draca26 March 2015
SCARY OR DIE is a low budget horror anthology with a few nods here and there to the likes of CREEPSHOW and its ilk. This one ploughs the same territory but is hardly on the same level as the older films, appearing very cheap and amateurish in places, but at least it's watchable and the old standby still works: if there's one story you particularly hate, you can rest assured that another one will replace it soon enough.

The first tale is about Mexican zombies, and I think it's the strongest here: certainly it's the only one that manages a few genuine scares in the Romero mould. The second effort is about a Korean vampire, and it's weaker all round, with a very light story barely sustaining the scant running time and a too obvious twist in the tale. The third story is about a serial killer who dismembers his victims, and is probably the weakest here; there's so little story that a key scene ends up being repeated. The fourth story is about an evil clown who bites a man who finds himself also turning into a clown. It has a neat premise but goes on too long. The wraparound segment isn't worth mentioning.

SCARY OR DIE knows that it isn't up to much in the scare department, so it throws in plenty of gore to make up to it. The acting ranges from poor to adequate, while the technical values are acceptable for what is a low budget genre production. Hardly the worst I've seen then but far from the best; this sits somewhere in the middle of the road.

A Decent Horror Anthology
adam-189415 September 2012
Although not entirely original at parts, Scary or Die is a modern "Vault of Horror" or "Trilogy of Terror." We are presented with five tales of the macabre as a zombie clicks on the clips on a you-tube like site.

The Crossing: When three Mexican hating rednecks murder two innocent Latino men at their dump site, they are punished three-fold.

Tajeum Lament: A Japanese man who recently lost his wife saves a woman who looks similar to her. She convinces him to meet her for a night and it's going to be a night to remember.

RE-Membered: A man with a body in his truck is pulled over by a policeman, he's about to let him go when he hears a rattling in the trunk. We've all seen it before.

Clowned - A young man is bitten by an evil clown that eats children. He begins a metamorphism into the same creature that attacked him.

Love Come Back: You can already guess what happens in this revenge story.

I give it a C because although it's entertaining, sometimes it's way too predictable.

Enjoyable Anthology, some stories were great, others left you wanting more...
efrainerodriguez-162-77465526 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Being a big fan of horror anthology movies, I anxiously waited for Scary or Die to become available on Redbox.

The film tells five stories, with what looks like a rotting hand watching each one on a computer screen. Each story, with the exception of "Clowned" (the one on the cover) is only about 15 minutes long.

The first story was by far the best and most satisfying - The Crossing. It tells the story of two rednecks and a young woman (apparently one of their girlfriends) traveling by pick up truck through desert/rural Arizona. On the way, they stop at a gas/convenience stop, and while the quieter of the two rednecks goes to have roadside bathroom sex with his girlfriend (the thought of the stench alone made me gag!), the other (who also enjoys drinking some stuff - moonshine I guess - that looks like tobacco spit and urine - out of a peanut butter jar) teases the Mexican store clerk, killing him off camera, unbeknown to the female. They take off, and a little while later, arrive at their destination, a crossing along the US / Mexican border, filled with trash, and several graves marked by wooden crosses. They get out of the car, to reveal that the stench the female complained about were two Mexican immigrants, kidnapped and brought to the border for execution. Apparently, the deliverance boys did this quite a bit, as it is presumed they were responsible for the other graves on-site. The female, realizing what they are there to do complains to her boyfriend and pleads for their lives. But they murder both - one of them having revealed that he owned a landscaping company, spoke perfect English, and had kids to support. The female flips out and tries to escape, meanwhile the blood from one of the victims, plus the concoction in the rednecks peanut butter jar seeps into the ground, and up come the Mexican Zombies. While you don't get a clear look at the Zombies, they are menacing, killing and tearing both rednecks apart (man did they deserve it!)and injuring the woman - though she escapes. As she has apparently escaped, we see her shot by some border patrol snipers, mistaking her bloodied body for a zombie... Although this left me wanting more, it was satisfying and my favorite of all the stories.

The second and third stories were not so good. One is about an Asian man who rescues what looks like an Asian woman from some thugs that were about to kill her, only to find out the woman was a vampire who kills everyone around her. At the end, one of the thugs hands is seen entering her building with the name "Van Helsing" on his bag. There was not enough dialog in this story, and I lost interest quickly. The third story, called "Dis-Membered" is about a hit man (possibly a dirty cop as the same actor plays a cop in the 4th story) who cuts a necromancer to pieces as part of a job, stuffs him in his trunk, and smokes a cigar in the man's house before leaving, noticing the strange medallion on a side table. Some tell-tale heart antics where he hears noises from the car trunk while driving, checks on the body parts, continues driving, is stopped by a cop that hears the noise in the trunk, has a look, then tells him to drive safely (to his surprise). A few miles after that he stops, looks in the back, and finds only the medallion only, with a message saying "You can't kill me" - then - predicable - he shows up, no longer in pieces, and kills him. The whole story is predicable and again, I lost interest.

The 4th and longest segment, clowned, is a good one. Though it does drag a bit, and makes you wonder if the main character has every heard of a hospital... A young drug dealer is bitten by the weird clown with sharp teeth from his little brothers birthday party, he starts changing (the clown makeup is decent), doesn't seek medical attention, leaves home and becomes a homeless man looking for the clown who bit him. The original clown tries to take and eat his brother, but he, now the good clown fighting his instincts, saves his brother and kills the bad one. He can't get close to his family and is losing his sanity, watching children from afar, hungry... Two cops, including one from the previous story, show up and kill him. Clowned is a bittersweet story with a sad ending. The acting was very decent, and again, while it drags, remained a good story. The baby twist at the end was hilarious.

The 5th and final segment is the story of the rotting hand watching these stories on a computer screen. She's seen wondering the streets, looking like someone injured walking, or like a hobo. As she walks, memories come back to her. Apparently through magic, it's known that when she loved, it would be forever. She falls in love with the wrong guy who tricks her at first, then beats her and abuses her. He kills her, but since her love was eternal, she comes back and enacts revenge on him. She then leaves the computer alone, goes outside and crawls inside a human sized chest, and locks herself inside. Weird - but good and this one too was too short, it left you wanting more.

Overall, Scary or Die is a decent anthology movie with more good than bad. The acting is okay, although sometimes the budget feels apparent. Based on how much I like The Crossing alone, I gave it an 8.

Fun!
mandyhawley15 March 2014
I love horror anthologies, so maybe im biased. i try to watch every anthology that comes out and i usually enjoy them. However,, this was truly an entertaining film. I'm really surprised at the poor reviews and those who accused the staff of writing reviews. If you like tales from the darkside, these stories are very similar. The acting, stories, and spfx are all on the same par as that show. The stories are pg 13 level scary and fun to watch. I sometimes wonder what people expect from a low budget horror movie and this movie by FAR out does most indi horror out there just because it's watchable! If I had a complaint, it would be that the pace in some of the stories is a bit slow. I really think you can't review a low budget film the same way you would, say, Ironman. That said this movie is a strong 7 and would be an 8 if the pacing was a bit faster! Happy viewing!

Interesting If Not Quite Gripping (Slight Spoilers)

Warning: Spoilers
"Scary or Die" turned out to be much better than expected, especially given Comcast's misguiding description, which failed even to identify the anthology format. The five varied segments were not at all scary, for this jaded adult, but they kept me watching and dragged out first revulsion and later empathy. There were some decent plot-twists as well, especially the end of first segment. I wondered if the two rednecks were the only ones using their bloody brand of de-immigration policy. Southern horror fans should stick together, so I second the spot-on review by SouthernHorrorFan - well-earned praise for these interesting offerings, "Scary or Die" proves that filmmakers don't need a big budget to succeed in generating some decent horror.

Very Good Attempt...
gpmforever8 October 2012
Out of five stories, i like 3 stories except 1st and last. Decent horror and little suspense in each episode. Acting is good in all the movies. Last episode could be avoidable. This movie cannot be compared to any other horror movies. Because its contain 5 different stories in single film. So i fully enjoyed to watch this movie.

My rating order of the episodes are...

1.Clowned - 10/10 2.Tajeum Lament - 10/10 3.RE-Membered - 9/10 4.The Crossing - 8/10 5.Love Come Back - 7/10

Over all very good watching experience..

My Rating: 9/10

Not frightened and still breathing

Black humor, ironic twists and surprises are found in this horror. First story. A rebel couple with their friend who scare those around them and kill other peoples who are from another nation than their's, are witness of something only in zombie movies we met when they go to the desert to shoot and bury two of the victims. The second story. A widower is haunted by the ghost of his wife and one evening sitting on a bench when he sees a group of girls and one of them resembles his wife. This is kidnapped and forcibly plugged into the car and he try to help her but fails. Taejung manages to put his phone in the fuel tank and using the laptop follows the car and he is led to the place where the young woman is about to be murdered but in the last-minute he saves her managing to stop the attacker. She wants to thank him and says she'll give a little party next week and you really need to come too. He has some small doubts but finally made an appearance at her residence. Now the roles were reversed for the young who seem helpless is something else than he could have imagined and now Taejung is the one who needs help. Third story. A killer carry in the trunk his recent victim gets some bangs which normally should not hear them because the body is cut into several pieces. Lose control of the car for a few seconds and a cop stops him. He hears sound from behind and asks man to open the trunk. The killer panics and takes the gun from the glove box, but the cop comes back and says he is free to leave. It's surprised and he stops the car a few hundred meters away and finds that in the trunk the victim is no longer there and instead founds a note. Now the killer has the same fate. Fourth story. This is the longest and is about a young man who is bitten by a clown and with time changes begin to occur. His clothes remain small shoes are no longer good and slowly begins to turn into a bad clown. He leaves home for fear that his girlfriend will see him along with his mother and son. Now sleeps like a bum under a bridge and his child has a dream that becomes reality. So one night it taken somewhere for a little picnic but after the clown is unmasked gives notice that it is not his father but he appears and saves him. Fifth story. The shortest is about a man who cheated on his girlfriend, and then kill her. She returns from the dead to avenge him and his infidelity. Many would classify this film as a weak but let's give him a chance. What I liked about it is that had that dose of curiosity who makes you wonder what will happen next and makes you eager to find out and all in a very short story.

5 short horror stories. I think 3 is good
olcayozfirat1 March 2023
Horror movie made in 2012, consisting of 5 short stories. The movies are zombie, vampire and clown themed.

In the first movie, a woman and two strange men are driving down the road in a pickup truck. These are American nationalists. I think this is the weakest part.

In the second movie, a man is looking for a love for himself. During this search, he sees a kidnapped woman. This episode isn't bad.

In the third story, a man carries a body in the trunk of his car. Another weak episode.

The fourth story is about the man who was attacked by a clown at his brother's birthday party. Not bad.

The fifth and final story is about a woman who loves to death. This isn't bad either.

I was very hopeless. I was going to close it in the first episode. But it wasn't bad.

There is no nudity in the movie, but there is sexuality in the first episode.
