- Erika is briefly shown in nothing but her underwear a couple of times.
- In one scene, octopus tentacles grab and wrap around a female character. Some people may view this part as having rape connotations.

- The movie is primarily a horror film. That being said, there is plenty of disturbing violence. There are unsettling scenes throughout.
- However, a lot of the violence is more amusing than disturbing purely because of how over-the-top and unrealistic it is.
- A fish is crushed between a wall and a desk, blood splatters onto the wall.
- A girl grabs another's ankle and is kicked in the face repeatedly.
- A dead boy is seen slumped against a car. His clothes are bloodied, but it is too far away to make out much detail.
- Circus performers have faeces shot at their faces.
- A scientist is stabbed through the chest.
- Again, a lot of the violence is more amusing than disturbing purely because of how over-the-top and unrealistic it is.

- Many of the scenes intended to be frightening are more amusing due to how over-the-top and unrealistic it is, but most of it is still extremely unsettling.

Sex & Nudity
- Erika is very promiscuous. She invites two boys over and they move upstairs, intending to engage in sexual activity. They are interrupted when a shark attacks them. Later, they engage in a threesome and we briefly see them, thrusting and moaning. They are mostly clothed.
- When a human is infected with the virus, they grow extremely fat and this often results in their clothes tearing. We see several infected people who are fully naked.
Violence & Gore
- A girl's friend is infected. She grows obese and her skin turns sickly green. She hides under a blanket and yells to leave her alone, but the girl rips off the sheet. When we first see her, it is very shocking.
- Infected humans have mechanical pipes forcefully shoved into their mouths and rectums. Though without blood, it is still extremely disturbing. Their eyes are wide open, staring.
- An infected girl is beaten to death with a cinder block.
- A character is chased by an infected human. As she scrambles away, she falls into a pit of fish and bugs. She sinks and screams.
- The protagonist's fiance is infected and dies. When the protagonist discovers this, she has a breakdown.
- There is a general apocalypse theme. Armies of fish and infected humans are shown invading various countries.
