They're trying not to make Marilyn irritating in this episode but the plot demands that she is.She's the antagonist to Nicole's protagonist, despite the show trying desperately to provide reasons that she'd be a better mother, most of which are rather materialistic.Although some of the lines seem to be deliberately ironic, so maybe that's the point. Roo acquits herself well, Morag is rather impotent, apparently making a threat she fails to follow through on.
Xavier's burgeoning romance with Miranda goes off the rails, which was perhaps inevitable but it did seem to have a few more legs.Xavier being struck by a series of calamities does raise a few smiles and the character has a large amount of pathos.
There's a nice scene between Romeo and Liam but the episode loses points for the off kilter portrayal of Romeo's relationship with Indigo, who was last seen berating him for treating another girl like dirt.Maybe he's got a reputation if Jasmine's behaviour is anything to go by.
