The episode seems to be going out of its way to try and make people feel sorry for Marilyn, to the point of almost painting Nicole as the villain of the piece.Which is frustrating when Marilyn's selfishness, with the muck raking and eventual kidnapping, is considered. What's even more frustrating is Marilyn's actually got a point:Angelo's illegal deal with Brax doesn't exactly say much for his suitability to look after Nicole and George.Sid pointing out Nicole's leaving her support network behind is also true.
Given how Sid has been the most sympathetic towards Nicole up till now, it's annoying that he suddenly seems to change tack and start saying what Marilyn wants to hear, even if he does acknowledge they have no choice but to return George. His conversation with Roo sees him begin to realise just what he's dragged his children into.
April and Dexter's scenes together are slightly worrying:His feelings for her loom large even though it does just come across as two friends. April's casual rejection of Xavier's plan to spend time together is also cause for concern.
