I'll turn into a LAVA MANNNNN!!

Warning: Spoilers
"Morituri Te Salutamus" (man, that was hard to spell) is a surprisingly smart episode of Adventure Time! When I first watched this episode, I thought it was ok, but a little odd. When I rewatched it, I paid attention to the little details and noticed something...much more interesting!

But first, let's talk about the humour. You know how much I love Jake's songs, and his song in this episode put a great smile on my face. He was so oblivious to EVERYTHING that happened to Finn, and it felt like he was in his own little song world. There's something about stretchy singing dogs that really makes me smile.

Now, the story. The thing that really confused me about the episode was the gladiator ghosts. At first, I didn't know WHAT the heck was up with them, with the apologies and the mixed up names and junk. But then, after a while (and some reading on the AT wiki), I figured it out. That the ghosts were basically going through the same situation as F&J, but instead of it being all a prank, they were actually forced to kill their partner under the Fight King's command (or watch their partner/friend get killed nevertheless). I'm not sure if I'm just really unobservant, or if the writers were just on a roll with this episode, but I thought that was actually really cool.

Come to think of it, Jake would be a really good cheerleader, ya know?
