Funniest Episode So Far
serenahan-1733312 December 2016
This episode is a parody of "The Office," hence the shaking-screen documentary style filming, which I personally dislike (hurts my eyes mostly). But this is all forgivable because the comedy and further development in each characters more than make-up for it.

The trademark "interview" shots (parody from The Office, where individual characters are interviewed privately) contained the funniest moments where Nate and Sophie's relationship and its problems were poked at The team also has hilarious moments trying to ditch the quite "determined" filming crew, especially Parker.

As for Eliot and Hardison, their usual playful antagonism hits the core of their relationship and trust in this episode, which gave more depth to their camaraderie in the end.

If you like Leverage for its comedic factors, you will certainly enjoy this episode.

A misplaced parody

Warning: Spoilers
This episode prioritizes jokes over the plot making sense. I understand this is a parody of The Office and I must admit some of the scenes, especially the interviews, are very funny, but all together doesn't really work as a Leverage episode. The presentation style made me constantly wonder "why is Nate allowing this filming crew to do their own thing instead of sending them away somehow, as usual?" The way they solve cases does usually involve some amount of luck, but rarely as much as in this episode. The way the crew completed this job felt very sloppy, which fit with the sitcom vibe, but not with the rest of the show and made the characters not be at their best. The movie producer is being actually creepy towards Parker and constantly dismissing her wish to not be filmed, but that is ignored by everyone else, which is weird considering how Sophie and Hardison usually really care about her well being.

If you like The Office a lot, you might get a kick out of this episode. But if you want to just watch Leverage, this is not a good episode for it and you're better off just skipping every scene that is not filmed in the interview style and not Hardison and Eliot banter since those are the only scenes that brought me joy while watching this.

Worst episode of the series

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely horrible. A film crew is filming the day-to-day of the office, doing interviews, and the Leverage crew just lets them film what they say to each other and provide realistic interviews. Absolutely NOT something Nate and the others would do. This episode was apparently supposed to be a parody of "The Office" but it is absurdly stupid I had difficulty watching.

Out of style

Warning: Spoilers
Most episodes of Leverage are great with interesting plots, surprises and action. It usually has a sharp and clever way of telling the story, that I like.

However, this episode is out of style compared to most previous episodes, with a documentary feel that gives the storytelling a sloppy and messy feel.

It also has way too many awkward moments and even "the evil antagonist" doesn't give the usual cold-blooded impression.

I assume the documentary style is supposed to be a spoof of something else, but it definitely wasn't in my taste so I'll rate this a 5/10.
