True love conquers

'Too Young' is a bittersweet tale about the pain of adolescence, but it also introduces one of the show's weirdest damn characters: The Earl of Lemongrab. The guy's socially inept, speaks in nothing but a high-pitch ("Unacceptabuuullll!") and comes between Finn and Princess Bubblegum (who's still 13 years old and not old enough to rule the Candy Kingdom). And that means pranking the hell out of him until he leaves; which doesn't work at all ("Hmmm, maybe if we set his butt on fire").

In the end, it's the townspeople who chip in with candy pieces and return the princess back to her proper age - way too old for Finn, who's left with unrequited feelings. It's kinda painful, balanced only by the humor of Lemongrab and the mischievous scheming.

But also strikingly mature.

Returning to Ooo

Plot; Princess Bubblegum finds her throne usurped when her age regresses to the point where she's no longer old enough to rule.

Several years ago I binge watched the first two seasons of Adventure Time and was utterly charmed by it, but for reasons even I don't know, I never returned to it. Picked this episode at random, and while it's not a classic, it does encompass much of the quirky charm that makes the series so likable. It also has a rather mature pathos for Finn's ultimately unrequited love for Princess Bubblegum.
