The Portuguese Punch-Down
owen-watts15 February 2024
One of a string of Drag Races made in Columbia early in 2023, I believe this came second and features the same gigantic mirror-festooned werk room, cool light-up stage, and awkwardly extended 12 episodes as Mexico. The similarities cease there though as this fellow South American series ended up as the strongest of the three. Strong creative contestants, strong host, strong judging and judges (particularly taken with Dudu Bertholini). Structurally it didn't suffer as badly as Mexico and really the only draw-back was the strange dark undercurrent of bullying, in-fighting and serious viciousness between the queens both on camera and behind the scenes. Very weird. That being said, Brazil was one of the few countries that was really shouting out for a Drag franchise (no offence to Belgium) and it could have done far worse than this.

Gigantic potential
pedropaivamelo27 September 2023
The program starts slower, nervous girls and dubious editing, but gradually they begin to appear more and live the program in mastery. Very captivating and charismatic conrestants but the biggest highlight is the host Grag Queen. I'm sure a second season will bring an even bigger evolution and investments from the competitors. The Drag scene in Brazil still does not have the proper recognition and the program will greatly increase the power of Queens who still work with almost nothing to bring Excellence. Dudu Bertoline brings a very professional vision and daddy's jokes that only Brazilians understand, but it is enough to bring great moments.

loving the Brazilian way of doing drag
jeanpw-3601327 September 2023
In terms of delivery, the queens exceeded all expectations. They dedicated themselves fully to each challenge, showing not only their artistic skills but also a fierce determination to succeed and excel. The passion and energy that each one brought to the catwalk and to the challenges were palpable, captivating the audience and judges.

The fashion challenges were a spectacle in themselves, with the queens parading stunning looks, which mixed creativity, originality and a keen understanding of contemporary trends.

The interaction between the queens was an additional aspect that made the season memorable. There were emotional and mutually supportive moments, creating an atmosphere of brotherhood and community that highlighted the importance of empathy and companionship even in fierce competition.

Outstanding

Warning: Spoilers
Watching the brazilian drag scene get the recognition it deserves fills my heart with joy.

The love for their craft is shown every week, and i simply adore this cast!!

Grag has been a good host so far, and the judges always serve fair critiques to the girls every week.

The looks are getting more polished as the episodes go by, and you can really see the effort the girls put in their artistry. Some outstanding makeup techniques as well!

Call me biased, but i can see the Rio de Janeiro girls going so far in the game!!

It's so special to watch all of this finally happening!

Organzza, você sabe que é WINNER!!!

What a great show
fabiomareiss31 August 2023
Wooooowww I am amazed... The show started with such a great energy, the workroom looks absolutely fabulous, so colourful and full of carnival's references.. the judges and the host Grag Queen know exactly what they are doing, they are very coherent, spontaneous great humour and sense of critic. The first challenge were so much fun... from the beginning you already know that all of the queens are fierce and they are ready to fight for the crown. It's awesome that they brought a diverse cast, with queens from different age, backgrounds and places, I can't wait to see more of it. I'm super excited. 10/10.

This franchise is one of the best of drag race
iagommendes31 August 2023
This franchise is one of the best of drag race, and Drag Race Brazil continues the legacy with flying colors. The show's cast is a dazzling array of talent, each queen bringing their unique flair to the competition. From jaw-dropping runway looks to unforgettable performances, the queens consistently serve iconic moments that keep fans at the edge of their seats.

What truly sets Drag Race Brazil apart is its charismatic host who effortlessly guides the show with a perfect blend of humor, sass, and genuine encouragement. The chemistry between the host and the contestants creates a warm and engaging atmosphere that draws viewers in from the very beginning.

The challenges are thoughtfully designed, pushing the queens to showcase their creativity, versatility, and star quality. From acting challenges that leave us in stitches to heart-pounding lip sync battles that leave us breathless, the competition is fierce and electrifying.

Moreover, Drag Race Brazil doesn't shy away from addressing important issues, using its platform to highlight stories that resonate deeply with both the contestants and the audience. This adds a layer of emotional depth to the show, making it not just a fabulous spectacle, but also a meaningful experience.

In a world where representation matters, Drag Race Brazil stands out for its diverse cast, giving a platform to queens from various backgrounds and identities. This inclusivity not only reflects the vibrant spirit of drag, but also sends a powerful message of acceptance and empowerment to viewers worldwide.

With its stellar production quality, captivating challenges, and a host that radiates charisma, Drag Race Brazil proves itself as a worthy addition to the drag race legacy. It's more than just a competition; it's a celebration of self-expression, creativity, and the unbreakable spirit of drag.

A Mixed Bag of Glitter and Disappointments
leobuenoscout31 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"Drag Race Brazil" was a roller coaster of emotions and performances. As a fan of the Drag Race franchise, I approached this show with high expectations, hoping to see a spectacular showcase of Brazilian drag culture. However, my journey through the season was marked by both awe and frustration.

The show started promisingly, introducing a diverse cast of queens with incredible talents and unique styles. The charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent were all there, making the initial episodes a feast for the senses. The representation of Brazilian drag culture was vivid and exhilarating, adding a fresh flair to the well-known format of the show.

However, as the season progressed, a sense of disillusionment crept in. It became increasingly apparent that the competition might not be as fair as one would hope. Several exceptionally talented queens were eliminated early on, their departures often feeling premature and unjustified. This pattern raised questions about the show's judging criteria and the transparency of the decision-making process.

Moreover, the queens who remained seemed to be favored not for their talent or growth but rather for their ability to stir controversy and drama. While drama is a staple of reality TV, it overshadowed the essence of drag artistry in this season. The final episodes, particularly, felt orchestrated, with an apparent bias towards less talented but more controversial contestants.

In conclusion, "Drag Race Brazil" was a blend of high highs and low lows. The show brought some memorable moments and introduced the world to incredible Brazilian drag artists. However, the questionable eliminations and perceived rigging cast a shadow over the experience. I give it a 5 out of 10, acknowledging its strengths but unable to overlook its significant flaws. Here's hoping future seasons will embrace fairness and let true talent shine.

a new flavor to this franchise
hevertonbrunosilva29 September 2023
As Drag Race España, the brazilian version of the franchise bring to the audiencia a new flavor of how drag could be made. To the ones who only knows the american spiceless recipie the show could be a little stranger, but if take time to relish, the brazilian queens will bring you a new way to see thei art form.

With a lot of heart and passion, this cast will make you cry and laugh at same time but withouy the old storytelling that RuVersion brougth to us for all this time. Their experiencies are unique and completely shows how Brazil has a different kind of drag and another social reallity whom make the experience completly different. The queens brings humor, heart, ritm and love for their art and their strougles.

Of course we have some issues with the edit, but is the first season and things could be improved for the next seasons.

It's a great season so far!

How in the world someone thought this would be a good show?
martinslucas-5860615 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is more than obviously the winner was decided since the begining. This is disrespectful to the other queens since they were clearly better.

Drag Race Brasil disappointed with its generic challenges, lackluster performances, and blatant favoritism. The winner seemed predestined, raising suspicions of a friendship-driven victory rather than merit. The show's overall tone often veered into disrespect among contestants, diminishing the spirit of healthy competition.

Drag Race Brasil: lackluster challenges, favoritism marred the competition, winner's victory appeared predetermined. I was so anxious and now so dissapointed.

Best of the Best
leosadm7 October 2023
Is not easy to be drag em Brazil! So some people say that's the worst franchise, but you know, is not true! You can know the different queens of the world and here is the only that have the diringdonnn bebê!

Grag is the Queen of the universe! Respect please!

Hellena, Organzza, Naza, Miranda, Dallas, Shannon, Rubi, Diva, Tristan, Betina, Melusine and Aquarela you are wonderful and powerful!

We want more and more seasons to know other Drags in this tropical country!

If you allow yourself to know queens that have a dream to expending your art to the world, this is the season!

Some episodes are hilarious!

Honestly... This franchise is really bad.
diogosilvahenrique29 September 2023
I started thinking that I would have fun, knowing that Brazilians are happy and creative, and the drag scene there is very strong and with a lot of dancing. Etc..

But the reality is very different from the expectation.

The production made some super boring challenges.

The half queens are very bad.

You'll be shocked like me, because the queens couldn't do ONE good lip sync, they're ALL bad.

I don't know if it's a casting problem, but the drag scene in Brazil is known for dancing, where's that in the season?

This left me super disappointed.

And we also have that hoost, queen of the universe, who whenever she speaks, it seems like she is teaching a text.

And the judges, simply non-existent, don't make the slightest difference, dull, and without constructive criticism.

Boring and the worst of the franchisee
superfhasion_foryou4 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Brazilian drag race is bored and not even close to the expectations of the show I don't recommend see it just rate with 1 star. Because nothing new long episode and the queens are very simple and nothing else to add to the show; drag race France and Mexico are better that this and even the host needs more experience because is not even good on what she does; we hope this show goes out of the platform and add more seasons of drag race France and Mexico those deserve more chances and opportunity to shine and be the best of the best for rupaul on the future franchise and get the queens open opportunities.

It's a different experience, like Drag Race Italy and Drag Race Mexico season 1. You have to be prepared if you want to watch more than one episode.
kaiowahenrique29 September 2023
You have to be prepared if you want to watch more than one episode.

The production is not the best.

The judges are very weak, perhaps the weakest of all the franchises, especially the woman Bruna, who claims to be a comedian, but is not funny at all.

The host isn't the worst, but she's very robotic, it seems like she's always reading a script.

The queens, half are talented, the other half are mediocre to the point of not trying to do a decent lip sync.

In short; It's a weak season, if they changed the host, the production and the judges where changed it could be saved for a season 2. But yeah not the best.

We know they're not real competitions... but
hmb-5177823 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show has some of the LEAST talented queens in comparison to the best shows.

The host is not ready for the gig. She lacks anything that resembles any actual depth as either a queen or a host. She makes Brook Lynn Heights look like a great host in comparison.

The judging, if you can call it that, is hollow and shows the obvious script they're forced to follow.

It gets to the point queens who are 4th teir in their drag are kept around because the show wants to look good for having a queen without a stitch of talent outside painting her face - in what appears to be pandering to the disabled population. As a disabled person, i find it disgusting.

I'm sorry, but we're not going to be watching this sad little piece of Drag Race herstory.
