...and it's not even close!

I've watched and enjoyed every season of Slasher now, and Ripper is definitely my favorite. Every previous season has its strengths and weaknesses (many of the end-of-season twists/revelations are frustratingly dumb, and oftentimes it's a chore to get through some episodes because the characters are so annoying or the plot drags), but I have no complaints about Ripper.

The writing is a step above previous seasons, the acting is great, there are characters to hate and to love, and the resolution actually feels earned. The final scene of the season was incredibly satisfying.

One drawback for some may be that there is far less gore than past seasons, but that didn't bother me. The violence in Ripper is more realistic and feels more visceral and personal. (Plus, it meant far less scenes of characters screaming nonstop, which gets unbearable at times in other seasons.)

Definitely give this one a shot! It's well worth a binge.

A brilliant end to a brilliant season

Don't get me wrong, every season has been good, especially Solstice, but this one just nails EVERYTHING it needs to, and although the gore is turned down a little, everything else is dialed up.

As good as they've been, some of the previous seasons had some of the actors feeling like they're phoning it in, but there was literally NONE of that this season. Everyone was on their A game (except maybe Paula Brancati), especially the writers. The reveal was great, the identity of the killer made sense, and the ending felt 100% earned and not at all ham-fisted. If everyone involved can keep THIS level of quality, I'll gladly sit through at least another 5 seasons of this show.

Another good season for the Slasher series

I've now watched all five seasons of this program and I'm hoping there will be a sixth final season. All the seasons have been fun and scary with explosive, bloody, and well deserved deaths. One thing about Slasher, no character is all good and no character is all bad for the most part. However, in this fifth season the character of Basil was such a horrible sub human being that the killing by the group of survivals including Kenneth the detective was the icing on the cake. The widow got away with her killings, but all the ones that she killed had it coming, so I'm happy about the ending. Season two reasons my favorite season, but this one is a six out of 10 stars. Highly entertaining as always and funny.
