"I think Maddy needs love and support"
skteosk26 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Most of this episode is just too awkward to really like.Alf and Roo's tactics for bringing Maddy into line leave a nasty taste in the mouth. Threats and bullying aren't the best way to handle a wayward teenager, despite Marilyn chirpily saying Alf knows what he's doing, and everyone acting as though Alf owns a house that he's basically squatting in is rather irritating as well. The whole thing ends with a load of meaningless babble about rules and respect without anything concrete really being decided and ends with the household feeling less like a family and more like a boarding house, something the show should be trying to get away from.Even Spencer and Maddy's brief moment of reconciliation gets soured.

Meanwhile, Romeo says goodbye to Sid, Alf and Roo.Well, that seems to be the subtext anyway, although it's not entirely clear why left. But again, the whole thing is rather distasteful, with Sid making a big speech about how he trusts Romeo to do the right thing when he's actually taking the coward's way out. It's meant to be heartbreaking but it's hard to see how even the biggest devotee of Romeo and his relationship with Indi would buy it.Even Romeo leaving Heath in charge of the gym ends up being an excuse for him to instantly shirk his new responsibility for a quick bunk up with Bianca.
