Fairly early in “Killerman,” , writer-director Malik Bader (“Cash Only”) more or less announces that he’s seen every gritty ‘70s crime drama that you have, and maybe a few that you missed, and he’s intent on distilling the down-and-dirty essence of those blasts from the past in a derivative yet dynamic mashup. In other words, he gives you fair warning, and he’s true to his word.
Liam Hemsworth stars as the aptly named Moe Diamond, a dark prince of New York’s diamond district, a smooth operator who, within the space of an hour or two on a typical afternoon, can translate huge quantities of a client’s illicit cash into expensive commodities, and then into a fistful of cashier’s checks. When we first see Moe, he and good buddy Bobby “Skunk” Santos (Emory Cohen) are poised to score a cool million each by discreetly moving money...

Chef and TV host Eddie Huang believes food is the world’s universal language, something which unites every person, regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation.
Huang hopes to put that belief to the test with his upcoming show, “Cash Only,” a reality travel show (produced by Propagate) where he explores the kitchens of immigrant-owned restaurants not just in America, but around the world. His goal, he says, is to tackle issues of multiculturalism and immigration through food.
“It’s food, it’s sex, it’s music — those are the universal languages,” Huang tells Variety. “[Food] is the language that, despite where you’re from or what your politics are, you can put it in your mouth and you can understand it.”

Plus, he's got vicious gangsters hot on his tail and dirty cops not far behind. Cash Only made a big splash on the festival circuit back in 2015. Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series.Much of David Lynch's work is about regression, or regressiveness, about people who are most comfortable when indulging (really, hiding behind) their baser instincts. An acid-jazz saxophonist with murder on his mind might take refuge in the body and soul of a teenage delinquent (Lost Highway), or a midwestern girl who has played and lost the Hollywood game might concoct a candy-colored dream-life in which she finally attains Tinseltown stardom (Mulholland Dr.). But these escapes always prove to be traps, and cyclical ones at that. What goes around comes around. What has happened before will happen again. Even Blue Velvet's Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini), finally liberated from her abusive sexual relationship with Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper), "still can see blue velvet through my tears.

Lady Antebellum knows it might sound odd, but the truth is the band’s new album, Heart Break, has more to do with happy homes than broken hearts. Take the song “Home,” which was inspired by the trio’s spouses.
“There’s a line in the chorus: ‘You’re the steady through whatever/ The shelter from the storm’ and in my marriage, I’m the one who is up and down — really, really happy, really, really sad,” says Hillary Scott, whose husband Chris Tyrrell plays drums for the band. “I’ve called my husband my steady for a long time.

When we first heard Einstein Bros. Bagels released a caffeinated bagel creation, the carb and coffee lover inside all of us jumped with joy — and confusion.
Sure, there’s coffee-flavored ice cream, cake and even yogurt, but how would combining two breakfast staples into one taste? The results are in.
Although the Espresso Buzz Bagels contain only about a third of the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee (32 mg vs. 95 mg), according to People staffers, the coffee taste was very strong.
“It tastes like I just ate a mouthful of coffee grains,” said one reporter, while another didn’t like the after taste.

Long before Elizabeth Chambers Hammer opened Bird Bakery with her husband, Armie Hammer, she was already a pro at selling sweets.
The journalist recently told People she held the state record in Colorado for the most Girl Scout cookies sold when she was in the second grade. So where’d she learn such impressive sales tactics?
“My dad is amazing, he taught me everything I know about sales,” says Chambers Hammer. “He volunteered to be the Girl Scout cookie mom and gave everybody sales quotas, and basically every girl went home crying because he was super intense.”

Sushi for three!
The Legend-Teigen family went out for sushi Sunday night, and of course, cuteness ensued. Chrissy Teigen‘s mom, Vilailuck, shared an adorable shot of Teigen and John Legend with their daughter Luna at a table waiting for their meal. Luna is seen with a big smile on her face and a set of chopsticks in her right hand, ready to eat.
“Sushi time,” Vilailuck posted, while Legend attempts to capture another shot of the 11-month-old on his phone.
The sushi date comes just two days after Teigen — who recently opened up about her battle with postpartum depression — shut down critics on Twitter.

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit the interwebs. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.

Ramin Bahrani made a name for himself with three independent films over the last decade, focusing on humanity’s daily struggles, reinvented foreign lives in America, and a fundamental sense of decency. With 2012’s At Any Price and this year’s 99 Homes, Bahrani has twice returned to the festival that launched his career, presenting the evolution of those themes. Not coincidentally, the worst...

One of our favorite crime thrillers from the festival circuit, Cash Only, hits cinemas and VOD this Friday in the U.S. thanks to FilmBuff. To give you a taste of what is in store for you we have an exclusive clip! In it, Elvis finally tracks down one of his tenants Rolexa and makes a gruesome discovery. An arson insurance scam attempt gone tragically wrong leaves low-rent criminal Elvis Martini (Nickola Shreli) with little to hold onto besides his young daughter Lena (Ava Simony) in Cash Only. Unfortunately, he also has little to provide her despite two years having passed since the incident. Money woes mount as Albanian bookies who’ve given him the benefit of the doubt for too long seek what’s owed and the bank threatens to foreclose on his five-unit apartment complex—his only means of income (when his tenants pay). He and Lena have four weeks to procure funds before they’re on the streets so the drive to squeeze his squatters for rent intensifies until Elvis’ surveillance cameras expose how one resident is stashing more than enough cash to ease his struggle for good.

Cash only! Queen Elizabeth II never carries money, a palace source reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Except for one day out of the week, that is: Sundays. “She donates to the church collection basket,” says the source of the 89-year-old monarch, whose visage adorns every pound. And crumpled bills won’t do: “Her butler irons a 5-pound note into a little square by folding it until you can only see her face!” What else does Her Royal Majesty carry? After 23 unbelievable, uninterrupted days of screenings, today marks the Closing Night of the 19th edition of the Fantasia Film Festival. There is always a sadness lingering in the air on the last day. I often compare it to the feeling you get as a kid on the final day of summer camp. You get to spend an entire month with a group of friends from around the world knowing you might not have the opportunity to see some of these people again for an entire year. Known worldwide as North America’s longest-running genre film festival, Fantasia is special because of the people who not only make it happen but also for those of us who choose to spend the beautiful hot summer days crowded inside a gloomy theatre to watch movies we might not have the chance to see otherwise. And for the sixth consecutive year, the event succeeded...
