Good Ending... At Least
wya-1231528 January 2024
By curiosity, we started this series. We were not very impressed by the first two episodes. There were many weird stuff happening that needed more elaboration. For example, why did Lay and for no reason take a walk alone in a jungle?... It was also unrealistic and at first shocking to have a Syrian wealthy girl in a Lebanese school.... However, the acting was good so we were patient. Eventually, after a few episodes, things started to become interesting.

The last three episodes are very nice in terms of plot and suspense. So I ask everyone to be patient with this series. You will love the ending!

Nice try But ...
silobm31 January 2024
First very slow and elongated it could have made a good movie maybe.. too much unwanted details scenario could have been better.. lots of nonsense like they couldn't use their cars to run away but when the murder happened they drove all the way.. they had barely any scenes during daytime where were the characters?? However the main characters were the only positive thing about the show they both aced it in acting and in charisma. The supporting characters were casted very bad they could have hired real teenagers they looked so old, fake and not convincing at all.. the ending was satisfying somehow.. I also enjoyed the scenery in Lebanon.

Great series

Warning: Spoilers
I loved the series and the characters. I was a such a great mistery! The ending was wow! All those girls played with Lay. First in highschool, than at the party. First to break up her and her boyfriend and then I think because Jad didn't want to marry Maha. Maybe still was inlove with Lay. We'll never know. And her best friend, omg, she played her since forever. It's incredible what some people can do. And Fares played her too man... so sad. I thought he loved her.

I am so glad I found the series. I love that, thanks to all this online streaming, we can watch series and movies all over the world!

When I Say "Mean Girls," I Do Mean Going the Extra Mile MEAN Girls

Warning: Spoilers
Wasn't so sure about this at first, due to things sort of dragging along and then some things happening that I couldn't quite put together. Stuck with it, though, and ----- glad I did.

The acting is phenomenal. Such a terrific cast. I especially liked the baddest of the baddie girls. It's not too often that one can find themselves completely enchanted with and mesmerized by such a consummately malignant human being. The actress playing "Maha" certainly achieves greatness in her role. Academy Award for best actor (or supporting actor) wouldn't go amiss here. Or . . . I guess since it's TV in Lebanon, the Lebanese equivalent?

Watching this with subtitles, I'm sure I missed out on more than a little of the subtleties. (Ha. Subtitles/subtleties.) I think I caught on pretty quickly, though. By the end of episode two, I was completely hooked.

Well done with the script, despite some plot holes. Well done with everything, apart from the ending. The ending felt a little rushed to me and even a bit silly.

But I do recommend this series. Highly recommend.

A True Crime Podcaster Who Done It
anicho01-944-8125397 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Layal is a true crime influencer with a popular YouTube channel where she solves stagnant crimes. When friends invite her to a bachelorette party with her high school bully, true crime in the present collides with events from her past.

The initial episodes are very much a slow burn with a dash of cottage core hygge life thrown in. As she wanders the premises of the abandoned spa that hosts the retreat, she remembers her childhood where she dated the most popular guy in school, became a victim of assault and was bullied when pictures from the attack were circulated.

The production values and acting were excellent. The slow burn kept everything very low-key and grounded even as it flipped between the past and the present.

In the final two episodes everything goes off the rails and reveals the people who planned her high school attack are the same ones who invited her to the bachelorette party with plans of humiliating her and pinning a murder on her. It seems a little over the top that a bunch of high school bullies would continue to pursue and harass this woman decades later.

The initial episodes deserved a higher score, for the strong pacing, but the final 30 minutes of the last episode became more wish fulfillment.
