Sad it had to finish
Sleepin_Dragon17 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It came as no surprise to anyone that the show came to an end, with the cast all going on to big things. It had been such a successful and hilarious show, it deserved to go out on a huge high. While I don't think the episode reaches the status of huge high, it was still a very good ending with some truly funny moments, most of which this time around focused on Jen. The mishap involving her coffee and the homeless woman is very funny, as was Moss's transformation in the telephone box into women's slacks. I was among the vast number of people who were gutted when the show ended, but looking back now I think it's fair to say they ended it at the right time.

Chitterstorm very prescient
safenoe15 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The storm created by Jen and Roy's in their use of Chitter (kind of like Twitter) was very prescient in light of the politically incorrect tweets by The IT Crowd Graham Linehan in 2020, which led to him being banned from the platform.

Richmond makes a guest appearance.

This is the final episode of The IT Crowd. Maybe one day it can be revived. The final line by Roy was a classic big time.

A hilarious final episode of the 'geektastic' sitcom
Stompgal_8728 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this episode with my mum and my sister, both of whom are fans of 'The IT Crowd' more than I am (I watched a couple of earlier episodes with them in the past), this Christmas morning. I didn't find it too funny to begin with but as the episode progressed, there were at least three gags that made me laugh.

The first gag was a misunderstanding of the autistic spectrum (of which I am on the higher end) as "the artistic spectrum," the second involved Moss, I believe, saying he would do a series of board game review videos (cleverly named Game Board) online and last but not least, the pièce de resistance consisting of Jen accidentally throwing coffee at a homeless woman and Roy arguing with a short barista before the barista is hit by a van with breasts on the front (no wonder a smaller version was shown earlier in the episode). The subsequent reconstructions were hilarious, especially the first one and the CGI one with commentary in Japanese and a reference to the 'Cat Bin Lady.'

Although I've never been a massive follower of the show, I still found this episode a hoot and I'll never forget the moment Jen and Roy's incidents became online viral video sensations. 8/10.

Amazing

The subtle mentions of past episodes made the finale perfect. It shows how the cast realised how much these funny moments meant to fans and wrapped everything up perfectly. Amazing ending.

Side splitting comedy!
Iluvcleanfunnymovies27 October 2022
Brit humor is not really my thing. There's very little in the British world of entertainment that I respect or enjoy. This episode of IT crowd had me on the floor laughing! My stomach hurt from laughing!

It's really cool how they use situational comedy, essentially slapstick comedy and make it refreshing/ relevant to today.

In the end, they wrapped everything up with a nice bow.

I find it fascinating that the Brit's can make fun of the homeless, little people,, and come out smelling like a rose... and making them look good too..

They left me wanting more.

I would've enjoyed watching this earlier, discovering this in 2022 on the other side of the pond, it's kind of a bummer. But I'm glad to have it.

A disappointing final episode
jenniferrrr-7987111 February 2022
I really enjoyed the show and all it's characters throughout the series, but this episode was incredibly disappointing for me. I know finales can always be difficult and you won't please everyone but the episode felt too rushed jumping around plots and trying to tie it up with a nice bow. It just wasn't as satisfying as i would have wanted and arguably one of the least funny episodes.

The Last Byte: Funny but not all it has been in the past
bob the moo21 October 2013
With everyone getting successful in other projects (particularly O'Dowd) it is a good thing that they go the cast together even if a whole season was not possible. This final special is not the perfect way for the show to bow out though, since it is not as good as it once was. In particular the plotting jumps around a lot and as such feels fragmented. This isn't a problem if it all works well, but it doesn't and as a result it opens itself to having "good bits" and then less good bits. The ideas are a bit all over the place as well and not all of them work in that way – some are silly but build well while others seem forced and go nowhere.

I did still laugh though – not consistently but enough to make me feel like I enjoyed the episode. The cast are on mostly good form. O'Dowd is very funny but as always Ayoade steals it for me with his Moss. Parkinson has one great moment in the episode but mostly seems out of it. Berry is a disappointment – I usually love his bits but the material isn't there for him this time. Nice to see Fielding in there briefly and there are some other nice throwbacks. Generally though it is not what it was. Worth a look for fans and there are some good laughs, but I could probably have lived without this one extra go round.

Very weird episode
maxval547 May 2023
I was excited to see the last episode and expecting something to remember. But this was a real disappointment.

The plot feels rushed and written by an amateur comic, all characters act differently from before and there are irrelevant/unrelated events throughout the whole episode. In short, a total mess.

There were a few funny moments though. Like Moss wearing women's trousers and Roy using pepper spray to cry at a funeral.

But then the plot mixes elements from the past without a real story, new ideas which are then left undeveloped (like Roy's realisation that something bad always seems to happen to the members of the IT dep) and finally, humour is just not that good.

The IT Crowd was great because of its innovative and sharp sarcasm, none of which were present in this episode. Still, the mark it left on TV is great and I'm definitely rewatching the old seasons again :)
