Tribute to standard Westerns - professionally executed
Wanderer6 November 2014
This is a professionally executed, well acted and scripted tribute to any number of classic westerns. The plot is very familiar, but is well executed and feels complete despite its 15 minute length. There is probably as much staring as dialog in this film, but it is done so convincingly that it never borders on parody. It conveys very economically how hard life was for the first settlers. There is perhaps a deliberate evocation of modern day predatory land developers such as the fracking establishment who fight their battles in court with high-powered lawyers rather than on the range with high-powered rifles. In any case, it stands on its own as a tribute western with highly polished camera work and solid acting.
