Wow, another several year old TV series being presented as "new" on YTV. no surprise there YTV has been scraping the unwanted garbage out from under the expensive shoes of nickelodeon and cartoon network for the last 10 years+ But the problem with this specific show is that it feels scripted to the max. The host chick that wears a winter hat is probably the most awkward attractive girl on TV since that Ariana Grande girl had her 15 minutes of fame and then pretty much disappeared.. (most likely in a trap house basement.).. the host of this show though "undercover high" is a one-woman cringe factory, you can see it in her eyes, whenever she does a dumb little dance or tries to sing/rap, you can see her soul withering away. Thats the worst part, she knows she is being awkward as hell but I guess the attention is worth it in her mind. This is not to say she is a bad person. She seems cool and friendly enough. But shes a terrible actor. Another reason to believe this show is fake/scripted is because the outcomes are so unrealistic. I attended 4 different high schools in my life and you can not convince me that all those kids in the schools signed release forms and or did not straight up punch or at the very least, verbally assault some of the numpty actors during the "pranks" . This show doesn't even deserve a review, but YTV deserves all the hate we as humans can muster. I'm talking the kind of hate we usually reserve for tyrannical dictators.

Cute show with funny pranks

While channel surfing I ran across this show on the Disney channel in March 2020 and thought it was well done and after seeing a few episodes, while obviously some episodes were funnier than others, I thought most were quite hilarious watching gullible high school students being pranked and often scared. Unlike the super negative review here of the person who said he/she went to 4 high schools and thought everything was "scripted" (I assume he/she meant the students were told they were being pranked ahead of time), I did not see any evidence of that. Also unlike that negative Nancy reviewer, I also thought the cute blonde girl hosting the couple of 2014 episodes I saw was just fine (named Lisa Gilroy I think) and not a bad actress at all and was a good bubbly host. I am 70 years old and only went to one high school and recall how dumb many students were and still are. I could not care less if this show is a re-run from several years ago, it made me laugh. I am a just retired litigation lawyer so maybe what some people regard as a silly prank show I enjoy as an occasional escape from thinking about my serious profession.
