It's a well written, realistic look at the pitfalls and problems of dating or loving someone with addiction as well as showing how anxiety plays out within relationships. It shows no one is perfect, shows we all cock up and yet we can grow.

I hate every character

I watched this all because I was bored and liked some of Judd Apatow's films. This series is crap. The main reason is none of the characters are at all likable. I have a huge crush on Gillian Jacobs, but, it is not enough to save this show. Gus is terrible. He is a weak, unattractive, beta male, loser. I could cope with any one of these qualities, but, not all of them together. Also, he is a horrible selfish person. He really is one of the worst characters on television. His friends are all bland dorks. The two old guys who live together creep me out. His black friend is a forced cool token. The fat one makes me uncomfortable to look at. He is a big guy, but, a total wimp. Mickey is a jerk. She is rude, lies, cheats and uses everyone she can. She also has horrible taste in men. Her flatmate is boring and not as nice as she pretends to be. I don't like anyone on this show. Gus is the worst by far. I really really really hate Gus. Mickey is also a jerk too. This show could be great if you got rid of all the characters except Mickey. Made Mickey even more crazy. Like a meth addict who robs stores at gunpoint and has lesbian sex with hot girls. Replace Gus with a handsome man. He could still be a bit nerdy, but, not a weak loser. More of a straight laced grown up kind of way. Then she could help him liven up and he could help her sort her life out. That would retain and enhance the odd couple vibe and the story could actually progress. This whole show is lazy, badly written and the main characters would never be together. I hate Gus.
