The taste of sake
tenshi_ippikiookami27 December 2015
"Liquid: Oni no Sake, Kiseki no Kura" is a mini-mini-series (just 3 episodes) about the creation of sake in Japan. As it is, it's more a documentary than a series, as there is little or non drama or tension, and the series expends more time explaining the creation of sake, and showing shots of rice and sake than anything else.

Shuichi Sagara (Hideaki Itô) decides to bring his family sake brewery back to life, and the best to help him do so is non other than Masahiko Tsugawa's Yusaku Washio, also known as "oni" (ogre). Here, at the beginning, Sagara trying to woe Washio is probably when the series shows more tension and drama, as afterwards you will learn a lot about sake and how's the best way to do it and about the purity of its taste and these kind of things. If you are interested in sake, and how it is created, and how people do their best to bring the best taste possible to the public, it's an interesting enough series. But just know that it will be more like two hours of learning about sake's brewing than anything else.
