A family is not just limited to blood relation
fighterman17510 September 2015
A hallmark of a good storyteller is making the audience empathize or pull them into the shoes of the central character. Jake and the Giants is one of those movies. The plot of the movie is too touchy. The full length animated film Jake and the Giants centers around a twelve year old boy Jake and his twin sister Joanie from the Village of Shiloh. When Jake realize Giants attacked his village and took his mom and dad, Jake he leave the home to search a way to rescue his mom and dad. With no help coming from their neighbors the young siblings turn to a wizened owl, albatross and band of beavers for help.

A strong message in this film is that a family is not just limited to blood relation; you have friends, who become part of that. This movie isn't comedy, it does have a bit of an emotional side to it which I won't go into too much detail about. However the people who didn't read the comics confuse me when they say it's "Cliché" "awful" "boring". I found none of these things in the movie at all. I was smiling right from the beginning and found myself a little teary-eyed towards the end.

So I do recommend this movie if you're up for a nice light movie with a lot of laughs: it might be better than you think.

It reminds me of my childhood!
habeeb-zeeshan11 September 2015
I had a fantasy when I was a kid. I had a belief that I was a superstar, and if somebody kidnap my family, I'll rescue them and teach those kidnappers a tough lesson. I had this strong belief until I turned 14.

While watching this movie (Jake and the Giants) I saw me on Jake and it appears that Jack is playing my dream role in this movie. This is a movie about a twelve year old boy Jake and his family who was attacked by the Giants and apprehended all of them except Jake and his sister Joanie. At the age of 12, he had to face this and he left to rescue his family with no help. It needs a lot of courage to do that.

If I see this movie as a child's points of view, this movie has almost all parts that a kid looks for. It has adventure, it has fun, it has fear, and at the end it has happiness.

If you have not seen this movie, watch it! It will be a great moment, I can assure you.

A decent time watching movie

It is a vibe decent movie for all ages. It speaks the truth family, companionship and that being diverse or simply acting naturally is not a terrible thing by any stretch of the imagination. I saw this movie today with my children. I discovered the movie all through captivating and all the time amusing. In this movie the arrangement of occurrences are awesome from the earliest starting point to the very end and trust me every one of the scenes are brilliant, the experience is satisfying and the story is thoroughly stimulating.

It is the tale of twelve years of age kid whose father and mother have been grabbed by monsters and he went set for discover his guardians. I think the story is well thoroughly considered and there are numerous shrouded life "pearls" noted inside. I have seen better enlivened movies before. In any case, it's a movie that you will most likely have a decent time watching, snickering and chuckling once more. I cherished the way this young man express his love towards his family! It was time well-spent on a movie and I genuinely suggest it!

Great movie!!
redbutling222 September 2015
Debi Derryberry is amazing. As I approached this movie i expected some great material, and thats what i got . The barn sequence brings something that I really came to appreciate in this movie. The ''action'' sequence as the boy lead fights the giant genius has a classical action feel and the score is really bold. Catchy songs that can be appreciated by parents and the small ones. Even with a modest budget the graphics are really cool, note to the impressive quality of the facials expressions and physics of the water. A right shot once this is combined with some of the finest voice actors in the industry.

With cute characters a message of love, brother'hood and persistence the movie isn't pretentious our like some of the modern flicks lost in all the effects, instead focusing on building strong a developed animation.

Great Children's Picture

I caught this film last month as part of an animation series. The film is about Jake whose parents are kidnapped by the Giants and now it is up to him to save them. With Joanie and their dog, Jake leaves to save his parents. However the giants are bigger and stronger. But with determination, faith and mental strength, Jake moves forward to face his unequal nemesis. This is a very well-made film for children. Every kid loves adventure and fantasy and this is the perfect combination that will take the audience through a roller-coaster ride, with a great theme and an uplifting finish. The music is amazing. The story idea is captivating. The characters are well-written. I love the dog. Definitely a must-watch for everyone. :)

Jake and the Giants Perfect for the little ones.
notenoughtimeaz23 September 2015
What can you say about a film that combines elements from Wizard of Oz, David and Goliath, and Jack and the Beanstalk all to different degrees? Well if that film is Jake and the Giants you can say. "Well done." Jake and the Giants, starts out a bit like the Hobbit a quaint village who's people exist through farming relatively safe from the crazy disjointed world that exists around them That world is full of greed, murder, slavery and inhabited by a world of giants who care about nothing except their own desires. When the two worlds collide the story picks up momentum. Utilizing a cadre of flying monkey's and their Dragon Boat, the Giants kidnap members of Shilow Valley taking them far up into the mountains and forcing them to work in their dark dank dingy mines. The action picks up from there as the youngest and smallest in the village realize - "You are never too small" to change your world and they set out on an adventure to rescue their fellow villagers.

Fight back against your fear
hobbes_mark10 September 2015
Seeing the 'Jack and the Giants' for the first time made me feel like a kid again and it has since become one of my all-time favorite films, so when I got a chance to see this, I was as much worried as I was excited. In the past, some of the films I have anticipated the most turned out to be the biggest disappointments, so I took a deep breath and tried to lower my expectations going in. But I am very happy that I am not disappointed at all.

When you are a kid you don't have much idea about the bad side of the world. If you fear, it does not mean that you are a coward! Its even bravery that when you have realize and fought back against your fear. Though Jack was hiding under the seller when giants attacked his village but after a while he realizes that he should not hide and he should fight back and save his family, then he left home to rescue his family.

By watching this movie I got a message which is "You have the credibility to fight back and get your things if anyone snatched it from you, no matter what your age is"

Jake and the Giants For Children of All Ages.
boatangeladds19 September 2015
We are thankful to be part of Jake and the Giants. It is hard to find an animated film that draws on so much from other delightful children's classic stories; with flying monkeys reminiscent of Wizard of Oz, a dead tree that comes to live inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk, Giants who only wish to serve themselves like Alladin and young children who must overcome adversity in a world that is much bigger and scarier than anyone could have ever imagined like Lord of the Rings. If you get a chance to see this film be sure to stay for the end credits full of wonderful songs recorded by Europe's top remix DJ Reyer. This is a film for children of all ages, as long as you have kept your child's heart.

Enchanted pleasure through this movie
maryleekeating18 September 2015
The real extent of a family film is to watch a child's reaction. My five years old kid sat with enchanted pleasure through this movie and was able to lucid the plot back to me with amazing detail. That's not a parent's inconsequential, it's a credit to a brilliant movie like Jake and the giants. In this movie Jake play the main role as a 12 years old kid who lived with his family. He has one sister too. One day they were attacked by some monsters and that time Jake was so afraid to face that. Once he realized that those giants took his family then he could not resist himself not from going to rescue them. It's a very noble cause to take care about your parents when the needed most. It's teaches all kids that lesson.

Well, It not the best movie that I can say. But it's not bad at all. You will definitely enjoy the movie.

Jake and the Giants New Animation From Boat Angel Family Films
Thank you for taking the time and reviewing Jake and the Giants the first international theatrical animation release from Boat Angel Outreach Center Family Films. Jake is an exciting story about a young boy from the village of Shiloh who tries to prevent Giants from kidnapping his family. Overwhelmed by the size of the giants Jake and Joanie set out with their small dog to rescue their parents and the other villagers from the Giant's goldmine far up on the mountain. The theme of the film is "You are never too small." The soundtrack is full of catchy songs produced by Ken Mary. The voice of Jake is done by Debi Derryberry famous for voicing Jimmy Neutron and could not be better. The cast and characters make this a perfect film for the young and young at heart. We think you will love Jake and the Giants.
