Powerful 30 years on

It's hard to believe Guns N' Roses released November Rain 30 years ago. Wow, 30 years, and this song and video has stood the test of time for sure. Sure, some may say the video is way too long, but so what, it's quite emotional for a hard rock band.

GNR reminding us that rock has its true and righteous place in history and in spectacular fashion. In just a few minutes this music video tells a tale better than some movies. Beautiful story and cinematography sent against an amazing song.

Epic music video of love, life, and death.

Guns N' Roses epic 1992 hit single "November Rain" has without a doubt been one of the most compelling and long drawn out music videos maybe ever made as it tells a love story of life and death. I remember mostly during the summer of 1992 how "MTV" and it's audiences was so in love with this it was airplay heaven for Rose, Slash and the boys. This love story shows out like a novel for the way it shows love and life being up and down with happiness and grief as it all leads to tragedy and death. Love the guitar play from Slash also and the lyrics are mind and head catching and at the time Mr. Rose's girlfriend in real life and in the video too was the sexy Victoria Secret lingerie model Stephanie Seymour who was such a beauty and glance of eye candy while watching this. Really enough said one of the better music videos ever made.

Purely Iconic

Warning: Spoilers
My review title says it all really. While some may call it melodramatic, and others find it self-indulgent, there's no denying the legacy of this bold, striking and somewhat poignant production from Guns N' Roses. Axl knew that an ordinary music video just would not do for a song like November Rain and pushed the boundaries of what a music video could be in order to try and do the song justice. While most often remembered for the shot of Slash outside the church in the desert, the video is a delight to watch for its entire runtime of over 9 minutes, telling a bittersweet tale leading to its tragic end in the cemetery.

It's popularity and success continues over 25 years after its release, demonstrated by the fact it's the most watched music video of the 20th century on YouTube, as of the date of this review. It continues to stand up against the music videos of today and there are seldom others one could name that could compare to November Rain in terms of scale or impact.

In a word, Iconic.

Warning: Spoilers
I am 42. I was in high school when this video came out and remember it fondly. The orchestra and the video was just amazing!!!! I LOVE IT. Till this day I listen to it and I can still see Slash walking out of that church on a cliffside playing his badass solo. Brings a tear to my eye that there are no more iconic moments in music like this today.

More a short film than a video ( for many, obvious reasons ) , it preserves the gift to be one of the most touchings love songs in the rock history.

Not only for lyrics, music or cinematography, but for a gentle exploration , in profound sense, of love.

This makes it evergreen , because it has the precious gift to translate emotions, forms of bitterness, deep sadness and happiness in simple, precise and honest manner.

A song about love and wedding, about uniqueness of happiness and the profound loneliness of the sufferance.

So, maybe a gem, not only in musical terms.

Beautiful and powerful.

November rain.

I can't understand the hype at all Warning: Spoilers
"Guns N' Roses: November Rain" is exactly what the title says: the music video for the Guns N' Roses song "November Rain". It is really long, especially for a music video from the early 1990s as this one runs for no less than 9 minutes. It is from 1992, so this one has its 25th anniversary next year. It is about positive aspects like marriage, negative aspects like death, but most of all it is about the music. Now I would certainly not call myself a fan of the band, but i am really surprised now that i watched this why the song and music video are held in such high esteem. I personally found it both very forgettable, the video was almost pretentious at times. There is lots of better stuff in terms of music and music videos from the 1990s, so if you are not one of the over 600 million people who already watched this on Youtube, then I must say: Well done. You missed nothing. I do not recommend the watch.
