The story of the "little man" actor Mike Edmonds
markrathbone-7119230 May 2016
An unashamedly affectionate look at the life of a Time Bandit, an Ewok, Jabba the Hut's tail (really) and Maid Marian's Little Ron among many others. Without being mawkish or indulgent this really does do what it says on the tin - it tells Mike Edmunds story and it would be a "warts n all" portrayal but there doesn't seem to be that many warts either. Heart warming, poignant and inspiring - I could not recommend this more highly. Detailing Mike's early life at home and school and his childhood dream to "run off and join the circus", the story is dotted about with quips from lifelong friends from school, the British film and TV industry and Hollywood A listers such as Mr Terry Gilliam and much of Mike's own, humble words. I was struck by the sheer humanity, humility and downright normalness of such an inspirational man and his story.

What a Guy!

What a fantastic conception. Having followed Mikes career for many years, well back to Star Wars and Time Bandits. This gives a great incite into Mike, not just by the man himself but by many of his fellow actors who have had the privilege of working with him over the years. Well done to all who have put this great piece of magic together for such a wonderful man.

It was great!

I had the honor of watching this at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival over the weekend of October the 8th in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I learned a lot about Mike Edmonds, and some that I didn't know and loved to hear what it was like to play the roles he played in all those movies over his career. He is a jolly kind man with a heart of gold that I think film showed very well. The music was perfect and the artist did a great job with telling the story. This is truly a great film and I recommend you take the time to watch it.

What a lovely documentary

What a lovely insight into the life of a man who's entertained so many for so many years rooted in some of the most iconic movies of our/my childhood. His happy outlook is completely infectious and inspirational. What a life, what a career he's had and is still having backed and verified by those who have all worked with him and been inspired by him.

Grate documentary about a charming, funny and full of life guy.

I'm a people watcher and I love learning about other peoples lives. And this documentary welcomes the viewer into the eclectic world of Mike Edmonds. Famous for his roles in Star Wars, Time Bandits and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, to name but a few. It is a fascinating study into the life and times of a talented actor and thespian, who just happens to be a little shorter than the average guy. A warm, charming look at how Mike's career started and flourished to the dizzy heights of Hollywood films and Shakespearean stages. With great graphics and wonderfully heart felt interviews. Full of laughter, insight and inspiration, this film draws you in so close you forget you're watching a documentary.
