Terminal Point (1969)

** (out of 4)

A man gets dumped by his girlfriend (or perhaps vice versa) and wonders off into a variety of situations. TERMINAL POINT comes from director Robert Allen Schnitzer who made a number of films that pretty much didn't feature any sort of plot. The director would become best known for THE PREMONITION but his early short films are rather interesting in their own way. This one here clocks in at forty-minutes and I will give the director a lot of credit for making the film to where the viewer can stay interested throughout the entire thing. This is one of those movies where there's really not a "plot" but just a bunch of random scenes thrown together. Perhaps there was a plot that the director intended and I just missed it and perhaps some will take something away from it. I'm not sure but it's basically about a guy who wonders around hopelessly and gets himself into different situations. The B&W cinematography was actually pretty good and I thought the performances were above average. Arlo Guthrie makes a quick appearance as well.
