Mid-Life Crisis
bkoganbing21 January 2017
Once again this Christian sponsored film will have to follow certain parameters, but the onus is on the guys in this one and if one concludes men are dogs.

Shawn Stevens and Pam Eichner have been married 15 years and quite frankly Stevens is going into a second childhood thinking he should have gotten more fun out of life. He was a kid from foster care who married the Teen Queen and the Queen sacrificed for him putting him through school. He has worked hard and become a success.

Despite all the Christian trappings of this film, it really is nothing more than someone's mid life crisis. People have dealt with those in many different ways.

Some of the flashback scenes with Danny Shepherd and Paris Warner showing the couple young and in love with the world before them were nicely done. Sacred Vow is a decent enough film, but I fear it won't get past church audiences.

Not a Happy Ending

Warning: Spoilers
A terrible way to teach faithfulness and redemption. Would not have watched this if I knew the outcome. Christian version of A Walk to Remember.

Terrible message!
aetherialuna10 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Once again, the Christian church teaches that women must behave as dutiful servants to their husbands, even if said husband is a cheating piece of crap. There is nothing remotely charming or endearing about this message, and just intensifies the patriarchal viewpoint of our society, especially within the church. This woman literally gives up her entire life to put her loser husband through school, and is then rewarded with infidelity and childish behavior, yet welcomes him back into her loving and devoted arms... cringeworthy!!!

This film will only go over well with Christian men and their poor brainwashed spouses, and perpetuates the long-held idea that men can do whatever they desire with zero consequence, ultimately being rewarded for their bad behavior as long as they seem as if they are repentant.

If you want to painfully watch some dude's mid-life crisis play out, while his loving wife is left to pick up the pieces, this movie is made for you. Otherwise I would skip this awful patriarchal preach-piece.

Surprisingly deep mix of family drama/romance with solid acting
gndy-6330214 December 2018
I found this movie to be most interesting in the middle, when the main drama develops and is presented through nicely stylized long camera shots. Pity that it hurries too obviously to the conclusive moralization. If only was the director/writer able to go on bit longer with ambiguity and open endedness, it could serve his goals much better.

The main cast is performing well with outstanding Shawn Stevens. Dialog sequences and narrative style is quite suggestive and realistic except some out-of-the-schoolbook wisdom said by pastor, which sounded way too much omnipotently detached and forced in the context. Minor flaws are however easily to be forgiven here since this movie is overall very good, original and refreshing. Looking forward to see more stuff from the director

Amazing film!

This film is so moving! I love how realistic the movie is portrayed - with great casting and real live events. Towards the end of the movie, which I won't spoil, really got me by surprised - wow! I also enjoyed the music and the overall message of the film. I believe the message is the most important part of any movie. Thank you!

Eye opening!

I loved how this movie left me feeling, and the valuable lesson it has to teach. Beautifully filmed, and the music fit the vibe well. Loved the acting. I would have to say that this is Sean's best work, for sure. Pam moved me to the point of tears. She was my favorite! I loved the vision that Rob brought to the film.

I watched this movie for the first time last night.

Simply put, it was amazing.

The acting, storyline, character interaction , and resolution.

This was the best movie I have seen in a long time.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone who would like to spend 90 minutes of their time watching a heartwarming, human movie.
