The Trunks saga begins
sam_smithreview18 June 2016
We have finally hit the new arc of Dragon Ball Super, and it is about one of the shows most loved characters; Future Trunks, the son of Vegeta the last remaining Z fighter in the future who once came back and gave a deer warning to Goku and co. He is returning as his time line once again faces a new enemy. Although we never see the enemy through out the episode there has been tons of people already crashing the internet and telling who it is, but in the last few minutes when the "Black' get revealed Trunk doesn't say anything about that Black is... Not going to spoil it for you if you don't know. Overall this episode felt like a trailer for the Arc, with a lot of building up of Trunk's future being destroyed and him trying to get back to main time line regardless of how much he has to sacrifice.

Hopefully, the writers do not screw up the time line universe of DBS as it can be complicated to explain how and from where this new bad boy has come from.

Very excited about this new Mirai Trunks story!
BulmaPunkRocker23 June 2016
I was looking forward to this "arc/saga". Mirai Trunks is one of my favourite characters, and after the terrible portrayal of Trunks in Dragon Ball GT, I was very happy to know he will be featured in the "Super" series. Seems like the future can't take a break. But without spoiling this for you, I can say that this story looks very promising, a new enemy that seems familiar but must have some twisted paradox background, and new allies in the future that I want to know about more too. The time travel to past is gonna be something else, I hope Toei and the writers will put their hearts into this story! It really deserves it.

A few issues.

Great start to a dark and intense new journey saga.

Could have been even better though.

Future Trunks and his Time Traveling saga in DBZ was mind blowing. I'm so glad he returned.

One issue that I have is that even though they show the struggles of Future Trunks, the way the portray the villain's actions was not that dramatic and detailed like it used to be in the old Dragon Ball shows.

They made you really hate the villain by showing you in detail exactly how he kills people. It looked censored and not graphic enough for a villain like that.

Another issue in the later episodes is that when they fight this particular villain, everyone seems to be nerfed. The fights look like fights from the old dragon ball or the start of DBZ at best. They are not intense at all. The Ki blasts barely damage the environment. Even the blasts that the Villain shoots, which are supposed to be destructive. Fights are not that flashy at all.

The story and plot is perfect, It's just the execution that could have been better.

The thumbnail?

Warning: Spoilers
Why does the thumbnail show the identity of the killer? That spoils everything! Anyway, we finally get back to Future Trunks and his timeline. He was such a great character it's great to do a new arc on him. While this is just my first glimpse of her, Future Mai seems like a great character. Is she really dead here?

I doubt it. We do know that Future Bulma is. I do wonder why Future Trunks' hair is blue instead of gray. There are scenes showing the present, but they aren't that interesting. To see so much set up with Future Trunks in such a short time is great. Oh, and the villain is Goku Black. At least I have the spoilers put here. ****
