Hey, gay couples
ericstevenson4 June 2017
"Collateral Damage" features Star accidentally destroying the (o)possum statue that the school has as a symbol of pride. It's like I knew a trash compactor would destroy it but instead it just breaks apart! That really was unexpected for me. I was wondering why they'd honor a possum when those were the things that were fighting. In the end, Star convinces everyone that the possum shouldn't be a symbol of their pride as they opposed it and they destroy the new statue Star made. Good for Star! They still get it wrong with possum and not opossum! ***1/2

"Just Friends" starts off pretty slow, but it ends up being great. It's kind of soul crushing to see Marco as a loser in the beginning of the episode as he got so strong in "Running With Scissors". In the background in the concert, you can clearly see gay couples making out. And you thought the last episode of "Gravity Falls" promoted gay rights! Jackie, Star, and Marco go to a concert and it's obvious she has a crush on him, but Jackie's his girlfriend. I'm so glad to be binge watching this show as I've been seeing so many awful video game movies lately! ***1/2

The feels gets real...

Warning: Spoilers
**************************SPOILERS INCOMING!****************************** If you guys are a fan of Star vs The Forces of Evil, you'll know that this show is not new to sad and feel episode. Collateral Damage is not bad, they give out more meanings about the school and as well the whole town. Bit goofy for my taste but it's not bad, not great either... Giving it 4.9/10 because like I said, a bit too goofy for my taste. Now to "Just friend", the other half of this episode. This episode is maybe the biggest feels next to Bon Bon the Birthday Clown. It all started in the morning, Star and Marco are getting ready to go to a Love Sentences concert, Star also purchased Jackie a ticket and but Marco's name under it so it'll look like Marco purchased a ticket for his girlfriend (which is quite nice for star, regarding Star loves Marco too). As they're heading there, Marco accidentally run over the ducklings , result in them having to take them to a vet, and released them to the ditch. They finally went to the concert. Star,Marco and Jackie is having a great time. Star and Marco finally sing together! It's nice! Star end up seeing Jackie and Marco kissed (If you watch the Bon Bon the Birthday Clown episode, you'll know that Star is officially in love with Marco and doesn't like seeing Jarco stuff, especially if it's a kiss), we came across other people kisses including homosexual and lesbian kiss that lead the viewers to boycott Disney over it (regards that those kids are only in the background that lasted 2 seconds, you could miss it within a blink of the eye and you can easily think of it as something else). Resulting in Star to move towards (Happily) the front to ignore the kiss, Marco noticed and went up to Star, apologizing about it, Star said it's alright and told Marco to go back to his girlfriend while she'll just hang out out front. Marco hugged Star and went back to his girlfriend, kissed again, Star walked out of the concert, happily, and shoot the Love Sentences concert billboard with her Wand magic. What can I say about Just Friends? It's easily one of the most painful feels in Star vs The Forces of Evil history. You can tell that Star is very sad and mad and jealous but at the same time, you can see Star smiling for Marco so Marco won't know the truth. while Collateral Damage gets 4.5/10, Just Friends earned 9.9/0 but I'll give 10/10 anyways! Highly recommended it if you don't mind the feels and some homosexual kisses that lasted two seconds in the background!

"And we will be just friends"
kcangel8 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode had lots of metaphors to Star and Marco's relationship and truly shows it at the concert in face the music where star is left with sadness on her face as she sees Marco make out with Jackie full on. Poor star.

The episode starts off where there singing with toothbrushes of a song called "Just Friends" that really relates to star and Marco. He showed her her world and for star it was a sign, but he acted to slow and ended up finding somebody new. She ends up getting a concert ticket for Jackie so Marco can be with his girlfriend, however he is in love with star and doesn't want to admit it. So as they are heading to the concert Star and Jackie are becoming good friends and they end up at the concert. They start singing and we see homosexual, pan sexual, gay couples kissing. Hooray Disney showed their first gay kiss! But wait? Star is holding Marco's hand and he's in the middle of a make out with Jackie. Star is crushed so she walks down and Marco walks down and says "Star" right after he kisses Jackie. He asks if she's OK and she's like "Of course now go back to your girlfriend" with a very crazy look on her face. As love sentence sings "till the day you broke my heart" she breaks the sign with her magic! Oh star is mad now and her crush is even deeper. However, star and Marco BELONG together.

This episode hurt...
supermlman25 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 of Star vs. Evil has been pretty good so far. The animation is a bit different, but still very nice to look at. Episodes are also more consistent in their quality (more then Season 1 at least, which had some episodes consisting of a very good segment and another segment that was significantly less good). Then this episode came along... Let me start by saying then this is the worst animation I've seen in this show so far. The characters, along with their movements and faces look either too stiff or too over the top and sometimes they even look down-right ugly. At some point I even thought I wasn't watching Star, but Gravity Falls instead. Perhaps some of the viewers may not see that as a problem, but I think that a cartoon that established its own style shouldn't start downgrading its animation this bad to the point of looking like an entirely different cartoon. This is Disney we're talking about, for crying out loud! The story of the first segment was just very plain, even a bit boring. It didn't have any real structure, no build-up, no climax, nothing interesting. The second episode had a story with so much more potential, but just like the first segment and many other episodes before (mostly in Season 1), it falls flat because the segment is far. too. SHORT! There were also very, very few jokes that actually worked, which is a shame because this show usually gets a lot of genuine laughs from me. Some jokes I even found offensive (I'm looking at you "kissing- hole"). The next problem I have is that the voice-acting was getting on my nerves, which again, is a shame because that was one of this shows strongest points. For example, Star usually sounds delighted, energized and happy with the occasional creepy laugh and this insane growling tone. But here, it just sounds like Eden Sher was told to SIGH all of her lines instead of actually SPEAKING like a normal human being would. And finally, there is the writing. I won't go into much detail about it but let's just say that I think you can make a character sound "cool" or "groovy" or whatever term like to use without making them say the word "Dude" five times in each sentence they have to say. Bottom line: a very disappointing episode. Especially when you look at the episodes that came before it, which were all much, much better. Hopefully the last few episodes of this season will not follow the same line as this one, so that we can get a finale this season deserves.
