Good show, great for making a travel bucket list, but with some flaws
missjennb-1336726 August 2017
I enjoyed the show and learned of a lot of cool landmarks to see, but they should have fact checked a little more. First, Seattle isn't the capital of Washington state (segment about the Space Needle). Second, U.S. interstates with odd numbers run north/south and those with even numbers run east/west. The show stated the opposite (segment about the US interstate system). Finally, they mislabeled the Washington monument. It is the very tall obelisk in Washington DC. The show called it the Vietnam Veterans Monument (segment about the Lincoln Memorial).

With all of these mistakes I caught in just one viewing, I wonder how many I missed and how many were made about countries with which I am less knowledgeable.

World Tour of Outstanding Architecture

(Flash Review)

This is 10 hours of the world's best architecture, insightfully described with a moderately interesting narrator and assorted architecture factoids. With oodles of nice imagery from early construction photos and footage to modern artsy shot angles, there is ample description as to the function and utility of various unique and creative design solutions as well as highlighting practical challenges during the construction phase. All nicely organized into 10 distinctive episode categories of:
  • Bridges
  • Transportation Hubs
  • Museums
  • TV Towers
  • Sport Stadiums
  • Memorials and Monuments
  • City Squares
  • Parks & Gardens
  • Playful or Eccentric Designs
  • Theaters and Opera Houses

Look around and enjoy the marvels Man has created!

11/22/17. A very well-done series about the architectural creations of Man. Many are truly wonders to behold. I liked how each episode concentrated on a particular type of architecture, highlighting the top 10 in that particular category. I simply enjoyed the opportunity to see these structures. The cinematography was fantastic. After watching this you will pay more attention to your surroundings, and perhaps regret the times in the past you didn't.
