"Ass Like That" is an American short film from 2005 by imdb definition, but of course it would be more accurate to call these slightly over five minutes a music video by recording artist Eminem. It is almost 15 years old now and Eminem was in his early 30s when he made this one. I actually remember this tune from around the days when it was new and just released. Director Philip G. Atwell has worked with Mathers on quite a few occasions and the only actor credited here (apart from Eminem) is Al Burke and he is really prolific too, also in terms of music video, has appeared recently in Childish Gambino's "This is America". But now back to this one here. It is very bizarre. Apart from the usual Eminem rants, this time against 50 Cent and Jessica Simpson, there are alll kinds of puppets in here, a dog puppet interviews Eminem early on, the police officers turn into puppets and even the girl in the bedroom. We even get an Eminem puppet equivalent towards the end. Only his dancers stay human. The title feels very random to me and same applies to the lyrics as well as the entire video you could say. It has an aura of creativity to it, but just not enough to me for a positive recommendation. Even if I can say why it has such a high rating here on imdb and some really like it. Admittedly, it is also not a failure like some other, mostly more recent works by Eminem. This is from the days when he did fine, just won an Oscar for his career-best work maybe, but yeah this one here is slight decline already. Skip it and you won't be missing much.
