Mother of god! Very tense
bissett-568214 April 2021
Episode 3 did not disappoint and things are heating up very nicely. Loose ends are starting to be tied up from previous series' and the main characters continue to battle their own troubles in their lives. Steve's pain killer addiction is deteriorating and Kate is torn between loyalty to Jo Davidson and assisting AC-12 with their investigation into Operation Lighthouse. Characters from previous series' make a comeback and this episode has slightly more twists, turns and action which is what Line of Duty is all about. It was a great, tense episode. Can't wait for episode 4. FYI - about 10 minutes in you will be on the edge of your seat!

Building nicely.

Without reaching the dizzy heights of episode 2(understandably), a really good episode. Everyone is looking over their shoulder for different reasons whilst the search for H is very much back on. Can't wait for the full AC 12 interview treatment of either Buckles or Pilkington. That's the real gravy. So far so good.

The Name's Hastings Ma'am

Another classic episode of the classic series. Although I must admit it's a bit slower than the previous one but the build up is great. I am already excited about the next episode, sure we're gonna see some great staff.

Now we're sucking on diesel!

Oh boy, oh boy! I enjoyed the first two episodes, not as much as I normally would, they were watchable, but a little boring, this was off the scale, I absolutely loved it, it was gripping, exciting, dramatic, it felt like Line of Duty.

The scene of the attempted murder was absolutely shocking and dramatic, I was on the edge of my seat throughout, I am captivated by the way in which they have managed to link so many things from the past.

All of the excitement surrounding H is back, I loved it! 10/10.

Back On Form!
nottaproblemuk5 April 2021
I've always absolutely loved this show and season 6 is not disappointing so far! As always, the plot continues to be fresh and unpredictable, and there is tension at every turn!

As for the Ryan Pilkington storyline - I've been waiting to see how this pans out for a while now. So far, you'd be forgiven for thinking he's just a run of the mill baddy - but if past seasons are anything to go by, we know things aren't always as they seem...

One of the ways the OCG have acquired 'bent coppers' in the past is by both grooming them from a young age (like Dot AKA 'The Caddy') and/or having them over a barrel - just as they did with Gates in season 1. Perhaps they've had something on young Ryan for some time now? Gates' story in season 1 certainly demonstrated the lengths people will go to in order to protect themselves and/or their loved ones.

Anyone who remembers that season will recall how un-phased Ryan's Mother was by his activities. We can be forgiven for assuming that was just because she was a terrible parent, but perhaps it wasn't that she didn't care about his involvement with the OCG, but rather that she relied on it to keep her family safe? Perhaps she got into terrible debt with them, and they threatened to hurt her and her son unless Ryan went to work for them? Maybe Ryan has been doing so for the best part of a decade with the constant threat of his Mother being harmed hanging over his head? Regardless of that, all I'll say is this - when the time inevitably comes for Ryan to go in for questioning with AC-12 with his Reg-15 and his tail between his legs, he will, as Hastings would put it, certainly have a tale or two to tell.

Could Ryan Pilkington be the secret key that AC-12 have been waiting for all these years? The key that will unlock this decade long investigation into collusion between the OCG and high ranking police officers, corruption, and maybe even the final piece of the puzzle... The identity of 'H'?!

Amazing Acting!

Warning: Spoilers
Martin Compston's portrayal of a struggling addict is outstanding. He specifically depicts a functional addict, as a result of his injury incurred from Series 4. Absolutely amazing acting and it is the reason I watch tele! This season was immensely intriguing, hats off to everyone!

Solid episode with tense moments
snoozejonc13 April 2023
An incident involving the transport of a suspect casts more suspicion on the murder investigation.

The writer takes liberties with plausibility as always, particularly with how much blatant influence corrupt officials can have on the justice process. If you suspend the disbelief and go with it though, various moments are highly entertaining. There is a suspenseful action sequence that works very well.

Martin Compston does a tremendous job depicting a young person in sad state of health and makes you feel for the character.

Kelly McDonald's acting is frequently criticised but I think this is harsh. She conveys a lot of feeling through facial expressions and body language and is one of the best in the cast at doing this. Some times her high voice feels slightly out of place amongst the other characters who are quite low pitched not as strongly accented. Plus, her material is not quite as exciting as previous guest stars have had to work with, but she makes the best of it.

Adrian Dunbar is on top form as ever with several great lines.

For me it's a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.

Episode 6.3
Prismark105 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There was more action in this episode. Mainly because of Ryan Pilkington's botched attempt to silence Terry.

Ryan managed to end up in a reservoir and killed a fellow police officer. Kate arrived in time so Ryan could not finish off Terry.

The criminal gangs seem to have lost all their best operatives. Now they have to rely on the likes of Ryan when previously they had Dot Cotton who was more sinister, cunning and reliable.

Well both Kate and Steve are onto Ryan. Jo Davidson though is proving to be more cleverer.

There is plenty here to like. Writer Jed Mercurio has varied his usual box of tricks so far.

There were some great lines by Hastings, especially the one about fighting old battles.

Edwards Hastings fits the bill
xmasdaybaby196625 April 2021
I am seeing all the hype around the series and j am wondering if I am watching the same show.

Maybe I shouldn't be binge-watching 6 series over 2 weeks but this does seem very pedestrian.

I know it has a tendency to be a slow burner and it was filmed with difficulty due to the pandemic but I get the feeling that the writer is out of ideas and the actors are bored.

Edward of Hastings giving a word to the Wise was probably the high spot I guess it's better than watching Midsomer Murders which is on the other side at the same time as this. I feel both shows have run their course.

Another Season Six Disappointment
philipwalkermaximus5 April 2021
There is something about the sixth season, that destroys all the good work of the previous five. Line of Duty has not quite reached the depths of Netflix House of Cards, but it is a shadow of it's former self.

Yes the acting is credible, in most cases, the same sharp production, moody scenes and dark world of police, OCG crossover. I could spend hours trying to rationalise why it is not up to the same high standards. The simple answer, no atmosphere.

What is up with the acting?
gordonjackson-5869422 April 2021
I can't tell if it's on purpose or what but every series shocks me with the appalling acting by "professionals". Kelly MacDonald take a look at yourself.
