We're building up here to the climax of the anti-Pride story that has been simmering for more than one series. I hope they make the most of it! The effect of pulling the team tighter to protect Pride is good for the long term future. The tension is good, and we'll have to see how it pans out over the next few episodes. For me, any episode is brightened if it involves Rita Devereaux. Chelsea Field has such a beautiful smile! And she and Scott Bakula work together (unsurprisingly!) so well.

Warning: Spoilers
NCIS: New Orleans may not be a great week to week show, but they always wrap the season up in exciting fashion. This year we have a final arc involving a scheme to take Pride down.
Not the most coherent story, but had that big budget popcorn flick feel behind it.
Enjoyable, and curious to see how it ends.

Enough already with the persecution story

The writers seem to have found a subject that amuses them but let's be honest, the "someone's out to get Pride" theme had the spots worn off of it a long time ago. It's getting boring and repetitive and they need to come up with something new or there's likely to be one less version of NCIS on television soon.
It's deja vu all over again

Warning: Spoilers
Didn't that same whoever-she-is show up at the end of last year's season to pull the rug out from under Pride's investigation, threaten to break up his team, yadda yadda?
And the smarmy lawyer arriving with a phalanx of attorneys to spring the main suspect is a tired cliché.
Didn't we end this way last year?

This is a slog-fest

I started watching NCIS: New Orleans because I love Scott Bakula. I immediately enjoyed Lucas Black. I love CCH Pounder. I even loved Steven Weber as Mayor Hamilton. And the first couple seasons were great.
Then you get new characters, which can be fabulous as they change up the team and cast energy. But I am never going to like Gregorio. She is too NY. I don't watch shows about NYers. And characters like hers is why. Too know-it-all, too cocky, too...everything.
Then there is Chelsea Field. She is way out of her element. I know she is married to Bakula, but there is a reason he is well-known and can carry a show and she is only a guest star. She is hard to watch and listen to, and her character is extremely unlikeable.
I don't know if I can make it through this whole episode, let alone the season. I can't decide if I will even try seasons 5-7.
This could have been great: a deep dive of NOLA culture and cuisine, exploration of the Gulf Coast, and a stark contrast to LA and DC versions of the show. Instead, we have lots of stories of the agents being the targets, and even a lost treasure found. This season took the show way off the rails.
