Ben (think goofy romantic, wears his heart on his sleeve) has been in love with Charley since they were sweeties in the fourth grade. He went so far as to buy them both matching necklaces (from an old woman who smelled vaguely of cheese). Now in high school Charley has moved past Ben and has her eye on Luke. But Ben has not moved past Charley. And his final declaration of love for Charley results in tragedy.
