An incredibly good last episode.

Halliwell is rearrested following the evidence being looked over by a fresh set of eyes. Fulcher is called back in to give evidence in the trial.

This series has gotten better and better, and ends on a real high point, a terrific final episode. We get the trial, and get to see what life is like for those around Halliwell's victims, some that have moved on, and some that were never able to.

The assumption that court room dramas are dull affairs, is wrong, this is a captivating watch. Freeman and Staunton are great, Absolom is terrific.

Episode 6

The final episode revolved around the second trial of Christopher Halliwell.

The prosecution thinks that as Halliwell denies ever knowing Becky Godden, his confession to Fulcher comes into play.

It mean Fulcher who is giving police training in Libya has to come back to help his old colleagues by giving evidence in trial.

The episode also deals with the aftermath of the first trial as the families of Halliwell's victims try to move on.

I understand John Godden is furious with ITV for portraying as an oaf in this drama. It is difficult to have any sympathy with the character portrayed on the screen.

I would had also liked to more know why Halliwell got rid of his legal team and represented himself at the trial. It seems to be an action of a man who knew the game was up.

As a drama the final episode rounded the series of well. I felt the fifth episode felt superfluous and lacked dramatic impact. Maybe it could had been combined with this one.
